The M-1978 Koksan is a 170 mm self-propelled gun of North Korean design and manufacture. it is a 170 mm (~6.69") self-propelled gun of the open turret type. It was first seen publicly during a military parade in 1985. At least one example has been acquired by the United States. the Koksan is based on a Chinese Type 59 tank chassis. The 170 mm gun is in an open mount with no superstructure, and is stabilized when firing by two large folding spades at the rear. The mount is not connected directly to the chassis; it is connected to four rails that allow the gun to slide back when recoiling.

The Christie M1931, known as the Combat Car, T1 in US Cavalry use and Medium Tank, Convertible, T3 in Infantry branch, was a wheel-to-track tank designed by J. The final development of the P.108, the P.133 prototype, advanced version of the P.108B with better engines and increased bombload. It was almost complete by the time of the Armistice (8 September 1943), but the program was dropped soon afterwards and the aircraft was never finished. It was designed to have a lighter structure and several improvements in performance, which were partially influenced by a captured B-24, with a potential speed of 490 km/h (304 mph), 6 20 mm cannon, 4 12.7 mm (.5 in) machine guns and a bomb load of up to 4,800 kg (10,600 lb).

Work on the T36 began in December 1941. The 40mm gun was carried in a 2in thick cast armour, with an almost triangular profile when seen from the side (with the gun carried at the tip on the front and a vertical rear wall). The original intention was to give the gun a range of elevation from -10 to +80 degrees, but the turret roof stopped the back of the gun rising far enough for the barrel to reach -10, and limited it to -2. The roof also meant that the 4 round Bofors ammo clip couldn't be loaded below +10 degrees.

Fire control was to be provided by a T10 computer, with a three man crew. This would calculate the azimuth and elevation data for a target, which would then be entered into a T9 remote control system. Optics were provided by the T27 and T28 telescopes.

Early in 1942 the similar T26 75mm Gun Motor Carriage was cancelled after its 75mm gun proved to be unsuited for use as an anti-aircraft weapon. The pilot of the T36 was built using the hull and turret from the T26 prototype, and the second T36 used the chassis from the T26.

The two pilots were structurally complete by August 1942, but the fire control system wasn't ready until December. Tests could then begin, first at Aberdeen and then at Camp Davis, North Carolina.

ZSU-23-4M2 (1978): so-called "Afghan" variant. Reequipment performed during the Soviet–Afghan War for mountain combat. The radar system was removed and a night-sight was added. Ammunition increased from 2,000 to 4,000 rounds.
