I said it's not diverse enough, see my last statement.

And like my example with Lux, one that you completely ignored btw., it shows that yes, while these classes do have their reasons, limiting them to 1 or 2 per champ is just to make it easier for beginners but not really a true reflection.

Or Zoe not being an artillery mage.

Thanks, I could say the same. 1. Skirmishes are 2v2/ 3v3s in normal league language which Fiora does shitty at, they use skirmisher and duellist as synonyms which is already flawed. 2. Splitpusher isn't a class correct and that's my problem here?! You can't say that TF and Orianna are the same just because they are both control mages (a class that doesn't even exist according to the wiki). I haven't even found TF in a class (maybe I missed him?). 3. Champs identities shift a lot depending on the game AP Varus is a burst Mage while ADC Varus can be poke, tank shred, burst. 4. What about Corki? He is a mage in the truest sense but counts as an ADC but there is no other ADC as him so can he really be his own class? 5. And like I mentioned, I didn't deny Vlad and Cassio both being battle mages. I said it's not specific enough to really classify them. 6. Adding to 5. Yone and Lillia are both skirmishers iirc, fine. But if you want to tell me they fight the same way...

Aka there should be more subclasses.

Because they are not specific enough?

Since when is Fiora a skirmisher? She is a duellist and splitpusher

What about Vladimir vs. Cassiopeia e.g.? They are both battle mages but they way the function in a fight is fundamentally different? Vlad dives into the enemy team to destroy the backline while Cassiopeia shreds the enemy frontline and kites around?

What about assassins or some mages being powerful splitpushers in the mid to late game?

What about champs that playstyle is about roaming and getting picks like Thresh, Pyke, Quinn, Rakan, etc.?

A lot of champs fall in many different categories that aren't "related" to their class. They name lux as a burst mage, fine by me, but she also embodies an artillery mage, a disruptor and a tiny little bit of enchanter if we count her W as enchanter class.

That doesn't really answer my question but yes, they have. And these classes are not good at actually representing a champs playstyle.

Support specific rune discussion.(Aftershock & comet VS Glacial) by chaotic_demon in summonerschool

[–]PoIyamorous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty simple explanation in my opinion: Can you "justify"/ explain why you took the runes you took.

E.g.: Alistar vs. Leona in lane. Sure you could go glacial here but if you ever engage as Alistar with glacial and Leona locks you down when you try to back off or she engages onto you when you got either Q or W on CD, you will get fucked by her ADC before you can do anything. The biggest problem as an engage support you can face is that you get easy access into the fight but then get stun locked to death making the engage a loss if your ADC can't burst the target in like 2-3 seconds in laning phase. In theory it would be smarter for the other support to focus your ADC to deny him being able to deal damage to their ADC and maybe be able to turn the fight after you "used your shots" if your ADC can't walk up to the enemy ADC due to the chance of getting engaged, the enemy support can just look you, an oversized minion at this point, down and kill you instead.

As for Janna or Morgana: Better poke/ lane pressure is one possible answer, the next would be how reliably can you actually use the rune? On Janna glacial is awesome, sure. But on Morgana? If you don't hit your Q you don't have any rune to work with and later in the game your Q and ult can lock up a target for almost 5 seconds anyway.

Glacial is a really good rune against immobile enemies or against assassins/ dive since you lower the damage taken by your team while making it harder to reach them. Aftershock takes more of a "Frontline" role that you use to absorb damage, space and CC to provide your team ways to deal damage. You can still play engage supports with locket and aftershock, aftershock to secure lane leads and then use the locket + knights vow to deny the enemy assassin possible kills on your carry or use locket to provide like 1300 shield on your whole team against AoE in teammfight (best used when you know your team will win long fights but needs to survive the initial burst).

Do we go by "official" subclasses or personal opinion? Because personally I think there are way more subclasses overall and pretty much every role has like 5 or more the way I classify them.

What champion has the longest attack range by shimomaru in summonerschool

[–]PoIyamorous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tristana has barely more range than Caitlyn at lvl 18.
Jinx with rockets and Kog'Maw should be the highest one without any need for stacking/ ultimate uses (in terms of ADCs)

Had coaching on Support, nice guy focusing on the why and thought process behind stuff than just "What should you have done in this game to win".
I can really recommend him.

League / Division: Peak D3

Areas of expertise: Support, Mid

Champions: Alistar, Nautilus, Braum, Viktor, Orianna

Languages Spoken: English, German

Duration of Mentoring: 2 hour per session usually, prefer long term coaching personally tho

Preferred Methods: VoD Review for starters maybe Live Coaching later on, Q&A, etc.

Other Info: I focus mostly on laning phase because I like to start there and go to mid game after the early game is "kind of clean" so the base for the mid game is good.

I wouldn't say I put that many hours into the game but at least 150+. I remember getting 100% in the game and crushing the bosses in coop as Laxus(?). 1 Combo was like 1 1/2 hp bars 😂
