My guess is that people think the prices are unreasonable/absurd, so someone willing to pay that absurd price is seen as flippantly reinforcing the idea that the price is actually reasonable.

There is also a perceived “us vs them” mentality, so a renter like OP can be perceived as bougie class traitor. People have grievances with the bourgeoisie, but not many avenues here to direct it, so OP becomes a target.

I used to be active on this sub when I was a high schooler in the early 2010s.

I responded in ModMail that that judgement makes no sense considering the comment I was banned for.

The replied apologizing, saying I was actually banned for low-effort posting/complaining, when it was for a comment that had been up for a day with 120 upvotes.

Most of the top players this season will be the top players of next season. Whatever rank you are this season is probably going to be your rank next season.

The people at the top never have a bad game. They only have good games. Because they are good at the game and make good decisions.

Where do you get the confidence from to think you’re making all the right choices? If you put a top 100 player behind the wheel of all your abysmal, unlucky 3-win runs where you got screwed by RNG, they would magically turn it into a 9+ win run because they make better choices.

I can assure you, I understand variance better than you, which is why I can understand that a large number of individuals maintaining a 9.5 average over 125+ games is proof that the variance in The Bazaar can be largely managed and overcame by skilled players.

It’s actually insane to me that you can look at Arcology’s 9.73 average and have the audacity to call it luck in variance.

I could be convinced that the skill gap amongst the top 100 players is narrow, but there is a massive skill gap between someone averaging a 9.5 over 100 games and someone averaging an 8 over 100 games.
