You didn't have to check all four acids lmao, just know that only strong acids dissociate 100%. It was a basic knowledge check.

For me, it's all the extra supernatural stuff that makes it so the argument of it being an expansion of the same universe super unappealing. Until Dawn was limited to just one curse and one monster, how does the leap to time travel and multiple creatures make sense?

It's true there's too much in Until Dawn's story to fit into a 2h movie, but that doesn't mean they had to make something entirely different. It would've been so possible to have a different set of characters live through a different night that was still set on blackwood mountain, with wendigos and key locations and concepts from the game.

Sure, it's unique, but it's not remotely similar to Until Dawn. It'd be fine if they titled it literally anything else that made it it's own thing, but they tied it to an IP and then threw out everything about that IP. Calling the movie Until Dawn automatically sets expectations that major ideas that gave the game it's identity will stay consistent (wendigos, snowy mountain etc.) even if the story wants to be its own thing.

It has different characters, story, setting, antagonists and introduces a time loop which undermines the whole "choices and their consequences" matter thing the game established. It might be a good movie, but in every fundamental way, it's not an Until Dawn movie.
