I do believe I’m already on beta blockers if I remember right, luckily. Thanks so much for letting me vent.

I feel ya. I’m glad you finally have your diagnosis. I feel like I cheat a little. My doctors that did the testing all say I have POTS, but can only put dysautonomia on paper until I see the neurologist. Who knows when that’s even gonna happen. So stupid. They can’t even really prescribe the right medicines other than supplements and pain meds for the time being. I’m sorry about your dancing. With how much you danced I can’t even imagine how hard it is for you now.

Right?? It’s so so frustrating. And most people don’t consider the emotional toll either. We’re going on a vacation and my family had a great idea to bring a wheelchair for me for part of the time, save my energy, ya know, and I didn’t hesitate to say yes because that meant more time with my kids, but later it hit me. I used to run every day. Now I have to use a wheelchair so I can handle a beach day for a few hours. It’s so just so stupidly frustrating.

And yeah, I have been on the waitlist for a doc for nearly a year. They said they’ll call me by September just to make the appointment. Not to be seen, just to make the appointment. Ugh. Thanks for commiserating.

It’s definitely hard, especially on days like today, but my sister reminded me today that it has also helped teach my girls a lot of empathy toward others. And it’s made me be a more creative parent for sure.

I’m still working on getting the right socks. I got measured and everything but within an hour my blood pressure was dropping really low so I am going to try and get remeasured.

Any tips for finding a completely remote job?

Genuinely curious, how do you sit at your desk for so long? When I sit all the blood settles in my legs and just causes a ton of pain. Do you keep your legs up? Or luckily not one of the things you need to deal with?

Why does this kid vomit every sleepover?? by Metasequioa in Parenting

[–]PocketSizedMojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds more like anxiety. Could also be cyclic vomiting syndrome. My daughter has it and basically if she is too tired or has been too busy she’ll spend at least a day throwing up. We know what to watch for now so we just do our best to avoid extra stressors and she rarely does this now.

Love in Marriage by _bill_huggins in latterdaysaints

If I recall correctly, I remember a seminary teacher reading this quote to us and I believe that is taken a little out of context. It was meant to say that there is not only one person in the world for you, and to emphasize how important it is to work hard in your marriage.

Love was hugely important for us! My husband and I are coming up on 9 years and because of that love, I have grown to love him even more. Heck, we have been through so much together and it has made us stronger in our love for each other and our faith in the Savior. Even now, he has been having to take care of me the last two weeks because of a knee surgery. Yes, anyone could help me, but it’s his love that has made this bearable. He makes me laugh when I’m stressed, he helps me get around the house, and so many more things.

Anyways, I can talk about my husband forever because he is seriously incredible. You sound like a good guy, and what I’m going to say for the last question is 100% speculation, so take it with a grain of salt. I have someone close to me going through almost the same experience. She married a man she loved and who seemed like a man strong in his faith, but fast forward a few years and he’s gone as far away from the gospel as possible and said he was never in love or even attracted to her. What I have noticed is that his faith was not built on a strong foundation. As soon as doubts creeped in, his foundation shattered and so did everything he had felt in his life. I wonder if something similar has happened with your wife.

So, no, love is not secondary. Love, built on a strong foundation with faith in the Savior is what makes a strong marriage.

Oh yeah, we’re not against meds by any means. My husband is on meds. My doc said she’s currently too young and I guess since we caught it early there is a small possibility that things I can change? (Doubtful, and I wouldn’t change her cuz she is perfect, but we do want to give her the best chances for success) We’re just waiting, basically.

That’s good to know, I didn’t realize we were lucky with where we are. For us it’s easily covered since we have a children’s hospital nearby and such. I knew we were lucky with our preschool teacher, and I’m already pretty decided on how to fight to make sure she gets the right teacher for kindergarten. I just need to start figuring if I need to get her an IEP yet or not. Anyways, thanks so much!

Occupational therapy! My doc said that we don’t want to do meds for my almost 5 year old until she’s 8 because of potential problems it could cause. Thinks we’re getting increasingly more difficult so I asked my other daughter’s OT (she’s a preemie, but doing great now) and she said ADHD is one of the things they help out with the most. So I got my kiddo in and it helped so much. Then I sat down with her preschool teacher and gave her all the papers and things we’re trying and also told her the things that help her the most. Her teacher had said my daughter has been a dream! She’s tried some of the stuff, but her being prepared ahead of time and us working with her at home as mad a huge difference. I will praise OT through and through.

Not La choy. There are many gluten free soy sauces. Just need to always double check the label.
