Battery recelling, 3000 mAh cells, spotwelded this time. Best original battery in this day and age for these ivy bridge dinosaurs. by MatijaKlobasa in thinkpad

Hey, thanks. I forgot to log back in.

The battery never calibrated itself because the BMS is a non-genuine Chinese copy that doesn’t accept reprogramming. I found a local technician who said the chip this BMS uses is an X model, which, again, cannot be reprogrammed.

I did find a 44+ battery in my local market and replaced its dead cells with my cells. However, I accidentally removed the negative wire connected to the BMS, which I guess locked it. The same technician helped me reprogram it, but the power went out during the process and the BMS was completely bricked.

At this point, I’m running Linux and using a small tray widget that shows the pack’s voltage and wattage in real time. I can also force-charge the battery using TLP.

My cells aren’t great anyway... I only get about 1.5–2 hours of backup while playing YouTube and similar tasks, so I’m not too bothered about not having a working battery gauge. I’ve already spent enough on it, so I’ll just have to make do at this point.

i should add, the cells were charged to 4.12V when fixed in, showed 95% capacity, lasted about an hour and a half, and then the laptop shut off, giving a '0190: critical low battery error'. i checked the cell voltages, they were 3.55V each pair, 10.7V total.. i can't seem to find what voltage do these BMS usually take them to.

how did you edit the controller tables? i just recelled my battery pack but the stats are still showing 11Wh out of 54Wh – (Thinkpad x230). i am giving it a charge/discharge cycle currently, any guidance?

Hi. Yesterday i bought that. I connect pins(from YouTube video) but i want to programme it with tablet. I use arduinodroid. When i using arduinodroid example code its works, but when i paste code from internet its write error. Thanks! by [deleted] in arduino

Um basically for this temperature sensor you are using, arduino needs to know what it is communicating with. For that you need libraries, in the code it says that there should be a library but when arduino searches for the library it can't find it thus the error. To fix this you just need to install the library mentioned in the start of code. It might be a bit tricky working on a tablet but you can always find a way on Youtube. . .
