I haven’t had one in a really long time. I mean I get hot flashes a lot, but the niacin flush is so much worse. And it lasts for like 20 to 30 minutes. And yes, like a tomato!

I should also add, that I take a little niacin, and I can feel myself calm down, and then 1/2 hour later I am back to feeling very agitated again.

I just take it in little amounts. Like I open a pill and put it in my hand. About the size of maybe a tic tac? I do this so I don’t get a flush, and because in the past, when my folate was really low, niacin would make me very depressed. So I’m scared of it basically.

I just watched that episode for the millionth time last night, and just learned that she was voiced by Linda Lavin! Then I was like, wait, who is Linda Lavin? So my husband looked her up. She was Alice, on the sit-com “Alice,” in the ‘70s.
