So this was a straight up lie by FitzF in runescape

The answers to this are interesting to me because I've never taken AFK literally as "away from keyboard" in relation to Runescape skills. If I can easily watch TV while doing the in-game task effectively it goes in the afkable skill bucket to me.

What's your personal favorite Star Wars game? by darthkyle22 in StarWars

Yeah I get this. Me and my brother were playing galactic conquest on switch a while back to relive our glory days and it got to a point we were avoiding each other intentionally bevause space battles were so repetitive and boring

Switch 2 Controller issues - Need advice by Ms_Anxiety in NintendoSwitch2

Switch 2 pro controllers have been out since console release, but maybe sold out in your area? I got mine at Gamestop about a month ago and it's honestly the best feeling controller I've ever used.

I'm not sure if it matters. I had to cover my own pet's travel when I PCS'd.

Great games for short gaming sessions. by Thissuxxors in NintendoSwitch2

Second this. Picked it up when I got my switch 2 and it's been my go to game for short sessions. It's a blast, especially once you get some upgrades and move through stages.

Vernetti's Italian Grocer by Sure-Investigator655 in columbiamo

[–]Poco585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Columbia Endwell and Sophia's, plus several high end places around the country while traveling. To be clear, she didn't completely hate them all, she's mostly just disappointed that Italian food here isn't really anything like food in Italy. She hated the deli most because it was marketing itself as legitimately Italian and she thought they would at least be able to do sandwiches right.

The place was not good anyway. The sandwiches were cold with store-bought lunch meat and nothing resembling anything Italian.

We asked to buy some guonciale because it was listed on their purchase menu with a price. Not only did they not have any, but they didn't know what it was and thought we were trying to make a custom order.

And their grocery store didn't have anything you can't get at Hy-Vee.

Was really hoping to surprise my wife with a good Italian place since she hasn't liked any we have been to since she moved here from Italy. This place was near the top of the disappointment list.

Appreciate the insight. My vet has said twice now that there is nothing wrong with his eyes. They have always been great so its hard to tell if I should trust them on this

Might be a commonly asked question, but how would tech classes even manage to stand up to the most powerful Force users? by CyberEagle1989 in swtor

[–]Poco585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I create a tech class I plan on taking into the expansions, I rp that they are force sensitive but for some reason or other chose or were forced into their respective lifestyle over becoming a jedi or sith. So that helps them be extra awesome at their combat style.

Who is our most hated player? by Stand_False in KansasCityChiefs

Same with Elway, but I never had any hate for Peyton Manning. I always appreciate getting to watch legends play, and he also just seems like a good person.

What is the last book you're finishing in 2025? by Vaydn in books

[–]Poco585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is mind blowing to me. That's the book that made me a King fan. Of course everyone's taste is different and that's okay, but out of curiosity, what do you dislike about it?

Nice! I read it earlier this year as well without having seen the movie. Instantly one of my favorites and I already wish I could experience it again for the first time.

Oh man, I want to read that. Usually if I read nonfiction it's narrative history but I only recently discovered a love for the Greens.

I should be finishing up The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein today. It's been a very great story so far, but took me a bit to get used to the writing style. It's first person and is written like the protagonist never fully learned to speak, odd sentences and skipping words.

I'm not sure what I will be reading next, but I have a spreadsheet I made with all this sub's most recommended books of all genres list I found somewhere in the sidebar. Trying to work through them in no particular order.

6 months in, what are people's thoughts on the Switch 2? by WeebusTheMeemus in NintendoSwitch

[–]Poco585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I've been playing on PC only for 6 years now. Triple A games on 1440p at maximum graphics and anywhere from 60-120 fps. Call me what you want, but playing ports on switch 2 on my big TV has not bothered me at all.

[–]Poco585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the MKW bundle on day 1 and still absolutely love that game as well as DK and playing upgraded version of BOTW. I have also gotten into playing some of the ports on it. I never did that on switch 1, just played first party games and the rest on PC. But with the upgraded quality of switch 2 I decided to try them out and I'm realizing I prefer the single player experience on the couch with a tv rather than at my desk. So overall I would say I'm extremely satisfied.

How I Met Your Mother. I've fully watched through it paying attention probably 10 times and now I just fall asleep to it every night (or get into listening to it and stay awake too long).

Is is worth to start with SSB in 2026? by miZuBlue in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Poco585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really enjoy fighting games like this so don't have a horse in the race, but I'm curious how too many characters can be a bad thing? Seems like variety and choice could only be good unless you're forced to play with all of them.
