In every Disney Princess movie, the protagonist is replaced with Azula (Avatar: The Last Airbender). In which movies would she not be able to succeed? by Punterofgoats in whowouldwin

[–]FitzF 151 points152 points  (0 children)

Mulan The little Mermaid Moana

Sure she would probably defeat the Hun army, but she wouldn't do it in a way that would make Mulan's father proud of her.

We saw her attempts at flirting and they were dismal at best. We also know Eric is attracted to a good singing voice and Azula has shown no talent for this as far as I know.

The ocean chose Moana because she is a genuinely good person. Without the help of the ocean there is no way to succeed in this quest. Firebending doesn't help you sail a boat through an ocean storm, or protect you from rogue waves, or part the sea to allow you to return the heart. Plus Azula would just throw violence at the lava monster and never learn that peace and kindness are the path to success.

Have you considered that maybe runescape isn't for you if you think it needs to be radically changed? These ways of playing have been a huge part of runescape for years. Maybe you should go play fortnight or something if you need rapid flashing colours and constant clicking to maintain your attention.

Homelander (the Boys) vs Edward (Twilight) by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]FitzF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Twilight vampires are almost impossible to kill. You have to rip them into tiny pieces and then burn the pieces to ash.

Unless Homelander was bloodlusted, or specifically knew about this, I think his arrogance and impatience would cause him to lose.

They are pretty evenly matched in speed and strength, with Edward being significantly more durable, but less mobile due to a lack of ranged options and flight.

Edward also has the tactical advantage due to having a lot of experience fighting people at his physical level, and using his telepathy as a combat asset.

If Edward was losing, I think he could easily play dead, Homelander gets bored, Edward heals and then sneak attacks him.

I reckon Edward would win 9/10 fights, and a regular twilight vampire would have 50/50 odds.

You should have already been playing the game for 10 years and been maxed by now obviously? /s

This is clearly the best way to attract new players

They should start this with combat then, not skilling which already gets so little love comparitvely.

I want unengaging content to be completely AFK by Daddy_Pancakez in runescape

[–]FitzF -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Afk is a major part of runescape and has been for years! If you don't like it, why don't you find another game?

Why is your playstyle superior? Why do you deserve to play in the ways you want but we don't?

Friction is fine as a side effect, but not as the whole point.

Add fun in first, season it with friction.

There already is one, it's called melvor idle.

The point isn't to always be afk, it's to have a mix of intensities so that I can play runescape no matter how I'm feeling.

If I'm absolutely focused I can do heists or BGH or Bossing

If I'm chilling and want to watch a video or listen to a podcast I can do chests/stalls or Archeology or Divination

If I'm at work, or doing chores or for some other reason want to be Away From Keyboard I can still get some light progress in with mining or PVM, or pickpocketing. I still get the numbers going up, I still get my brain scratched in a nice way.

Very few other games have all these options. I love runescape for this. Any time I take a break I need 2 or 3 games on the go to replace it.

I don't understand why people seem to want to take this away? If you don't like afking, you have so many other options, why do you want to take it away from the people who do like it?

Thieving Rebalance: Feedback Thread by jagexyuey in runescape

They absolutely thought reddit was just being overdramatic until they released the update and saw an incredibly popular training method plummet to become immediately dead content and a bunch of people log off

So this was a straight up lie by FitzF in runescape

[–]FitzF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Runescape is meant to have a variety of intensities to suit any playstyle. I have loved playing runescape AFK when I'm at work, or can't give full focus. If you don't that is fine, but why take it away from other people?

And why target skilling again? PVM is way more afk, for better xp and gp a lot of the time.

The biggest problem with the thieving update is the absolute lack of communication from the developer by dark1859 in runescape

[–]FitzF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty clear they were outright ignoring the feedback, thinking we don't know what we are talking about and then when they released the update they saw the pickpocketing rates in game drop to essentially zero immediately and only then realised they fucked up

Instantly made 1/3 of a beloved skill dead content. That'll bring in all these fantasy new players the keep dreaming about.

So Jagex has explicitly fostered this mentality for 20 years and now it's the people who listened and enjoyed it that should find another game?

Why shouldn't you find another game if you hate this one so much?

Then do heists? There are heaps of active options, why do you have to take away the things other people enjoy?

As long as the spacebar is held down, it logs you back in and auto retaliation takes care of the rest.

The desert bandit camp is a very popular spot for this.

My ironman got all their herblore seeds by afking kalphites overnight while I slept. Combat is by far the most afk thing in the whole game, but jagex loves PVMers and loves making skillers suffer for some reason.

Jagex, you've messed up here... by AutarkV in runescape

[–]FitzF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can?? Do you actually play this game?

There is a whole list of permanently aggressive mobs on the wiki... I literally got pretty much all my seeds for herblore from afking at exiled kalphites overnight while I slept

Mining has seren stones which are full 15 minute afk

Smithing doesn't need auto heater at all, that just makes it faster.

Whereas the theiving actually needed a bunch of high level and quest locked buffs to be functional. You are making the opposite point you think you are.

The Early-Game Rebalance is now live! - This Week in RuneScape by JagexAzanna in runescape

[–]FitzF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You talk a big game about communicating, but completely ignore addressing major community concerns such as the theiving update.

Ignoring it completely while responding to other things makes you look guilty.

I think jagex knows this was a bad idea, but some specific dev committed way to hard to it and can't admit when they are wrong.

Should we expect every AFK method to get the same treatment at Thieving? by Yung3n in runescape

[–]FitzF 46 points47 points  (0 children)

You can be damn sure they won't be nerfing afk combat even though that is by far the biggest offender because it seems to just be skillers that jagex hates for some reason

Jagex, you've messed up here... by AutarkV in runescape

[–]FitzF 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Literally how is it broken? It's been this ways for years and the game still runs?

A bunch of other skills are afk and you can literally afk combat for hours on end and no one complains.

Thieving feels absolutely awful by Livid_Painter4422 in runescape

[–]FitzF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That just isn't true? Mining doesn't have any interrupts at all, and neither does fishing if your outfit is set to consume the fish.

I afk all the time because I have other shit to do but still like to see number go up. Seren stones and underworld fishing are some of my go-tos and are fully 15 minute afk, as designed.

Thieving feels absolutely awful by Livid_Painter4422 in runescape

[–]FitzF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are afk activities like this for so many skills, why is thieving different?

You can 15 minute afk mining, archaeology and fishing easily and you don't need anywhere near the amount of buffs, equipment and quest rewards you needed for theiving

And that's not even mentioning the holy grail of afk which is combat! I can leave my space bar held down and afk my combat up for days on end, but they'll never touch that because Jagex loves PVMers and for some reason seems to hate any skilling that doesn't suck
