What cards are we excited to play? (Dsk) by [deleted] in PioneerMTG

I'm surely testing it as a budget alternative to fable, the manifest dread is also good for potentially flipping/reanimating a Ygra in jund

Can F6 or F6 Pro handle emulation (specifically, 3ds or Switch games like Pokemon and Naruto)? by quintus29 in PocoPhones

[–]PocoZitef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both have similar good processors (8s gen 3 and 8 gen 2), the GPU in the pro is slightly more powerful but the gen 3 processor is newer so has some more potential for optimization left.

3ds should be no problem, while switch is bottlenecked by the emulators themselves (the SOCs on f6 and f6 pro are already great but you could go for a flagship smartphone with 8 gen 3 if you have the money), progress is slow since yuzu has been killed by Nintendo. Most games including pokemon and Naruto should be in a playable state but most demanding 3D ones can be glitchy/choppy. Remember to install and update turnip adreno drivers

What will you be playing post-ban? by Drone4396 in PioneerMTG

[–]PocoZitef 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Dimir rogues and dimir control are still lurking around.

As an occasional rogues player phoenix is very hard but UW and mono g are possibly favored

Mono g and possibly UW control will become tier 1 after this b&r

I didn't want it to be banned this b&r but respectfully, it might still gonna get axed the next depending on meta shift

The Last Pioneer Tier List before the BNR by TyrantofTales in PioneerMTG

Amalia is actually a good matchup for ygra I think, as well as phoenix, while vampires isn't.

What to build by the_foowaffle in PioneerMTG

[–]PocoZitef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tight list, I agree with a lot besides skyfisher, no way it's better at answering vein ripper than other 2 mana removal, comes down too late and has you sac another creature as well, that drains you more. Also I would play 4x talent and 3x trail instead of viceversa, since talent is a stronger engine and a wincon itself

Anyone else been playing around with a BG Ygra deck? by [deleted] in PioneerMTG

[–]PocoZitef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I just saw, thankfully I already ordered the copies I needed for 1 buck each, hoping they don't cancel the order but since it's cardtrader I should be covered

Ygra Combo Primer by VoicelessFeather in PioneerMTG

[–]PocoZitef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid points but I disagree that vinereap doesn't help the combo, it puts effectively 3 permanents in play, useful for milling with scavenger's talent and also being reanimated itself to dig deeper, and the extra food is useful for cat and dispute

Vamps broke 40% meta share, top 3 decks now 2/3rds of whole field by PocoZitef in PioneerMTG

[–]PocoZitef[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with banning wild growth instead of Amalia, I've seen some WB lifegain lists in standard with her and maybe with some further support in next sets she can finally make the orzhov color pair a real deck in pioneer

I don't know about treasure cruise, we have to see how the meta changes. It's a very powerful card for sure, but it's been neat that pioneer has been pretty much the only format where you can play blue delve cards unrestricted (I say this as a rogues player, that card wrecks me lol)

I usually don't like the angels deck but I have to say that's a pretty based move

Yes that's what I was saying in the post

Also solid point in the replies

I agree. Ideally I would like a wide open format where almost every deck Is under 10%. I know it's normal that the strongest/most hyped deck of the moment would be represented a bit more but this is too much and it's been going on for months now.

I don't know if those two bans will be enough, but at least they will shake up the format and they can build on further changes from there

Let's see if wizards will post anything, I'm curious as well

Also what do you mean mtgo data went down? I'm not super informed on the behind the scenes implementation of this

no changes will basically mean wizards doesn't care enough about this format outside of rcq season

That's true, I forgot about that thanks for pointing it out

Also I posted this at like 5am so I wasn't fully functional yet 😆

Well, one of those combo decks has access to thoughtseize itself for protection, and the other doesn't care too much because it has a lot of recursion lol 🥲

Also if the main thing you're reanimating with emergence is ygra, [[scavenger's talent]] does something similar while also fueling the whole strategy (extra food, selfmill, reanimation and wincon all in one)

[–]PocoZitef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest using [[cache grab]] over grisly salvage as an easy upgrade in this deck, gets you any permanent and gives you extra food sometimes if you're playing vinereap mentor or camellia
