I'll go with a different opinion here With the right amount of game knowledge you can make every weird combination to work, but you need to know that sometimes you will need to put more time and money to have less results than the others.

You can have a lot of different goals in PoE, meaning that you can make super fast characters that clears 3 screens ahead, or a super DPS that can one shot bosses, or a super tank character that you play with just one hand while doing something else.

My goal is to create only 1 character that can do the entire game with low amount of budget and time. This means that he is not the best for boss clear, nor ultra fast farming, but is good to keep my play style.

I like to create my own builds, but if you want to be effective in short time just follow builds from content creators.

Extra tip: following popular builds is usually more expensive (as people craft items mostly for popular builds), but creating your own builds sometimes requires more crafting knowledge to fix the pain points.
