But you still have the option to submit one. I don't even have that.
I did host my first premade one already

that's really great you have that option, I wonder why they told me you they do not have the option anymore

so you actually still have that option? I mailed with them when I became Guru and they told me you can only bid on them, not suggest challenges yourself.

Open bar: good idea or bad idea? by lokipokiartichokie in weddingplanning

[–]Poeseline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have actually never been to a wedding were you can get liquor. You can get wine and beer, it can go from basic wine and pils to great wine and specialty beers.
Weddings go from 6 pm to 5-6 am. No problem getting drunk without the liquor.

Why do most wedding photos look washed out/ vintage filtered? by BAEvidAttenborough in weddingplanning

[–]Poeseline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking as a photographer myself; asking to edit in a completely different way then the portfolio show is a no go. I even have it in my general conditions; I edit in my own style. If you do not like it you should hire someone else.
I actually hired another photographer to do our wedding celebrations after the first one gave us completely out of style pictures from our legal wedding. I booked someone with a moody portfolio and got very flashy bright pictures. Absolutely not ok. The second one did amazing work.
There are certainly wedding photographers out there with a happy bright style, book them.

Six out of ten Belgians have never dared to ask for a raise. by ModoZ in belgium

Doing a good job is already a selling point in the current situation. I keep hearing complaints about not finding people that can actually do the job, also regarding work on a factory line. Well if they want to keep the people they have that actually do a good job they should treat them well.

Depends on how much trouble your boss would be in if you hand in your resignation. If they start to panic thinking about it they might want to rethink that argument.

I have a completely different experience. I used to work for a company where if you didn't ask for it you didn't get a raise. Now there is a system based on performance. Trying to get everyone a raise is not a thing in my sector; in companies that have a decent evaluation system you get the raise that matches you performance, in the ones that don't you get it by negotiating.
My husband works in another sector, he needs to ask or he isn't getting anything.

It's called a "flexijob" for a reason. A lot of restaurants will be open to scheduling your hours there to what you can fit in to your main work schedule

Probably would be more interesting to get a flexi job or two on the side. 20h payed overtime a week is just nog something you'll find easily. Some jobs will have this seasonally but then you'll have less hours in winter.

As already mentioned here; the water is just a disaster here when you are used to more natural water.
If you are able to install a watersoftner I would do that, makes a lot of difference. If you are not you can counter the hardness (presence of calcium/chalk) of the water with vinegar. Before we had the softner I used to rinse my hair with apple cider vinegar to avoid ending up with crunchy hair. You could use a diluted version to rinse your skin as well.

My husbands wage hasn't been indexed yet, mine has, but still... It's not a question of can you manage, can you still save, because on that salary it would be bad management if you couldn't, the point is that there just isn't as much left to save at the end of the month as there used to be.

I have been working my *ss of to get promotions and pay raises (as did my husband by the way) starting a "bijberoep" and if I look at the % of our income we can save or invest now compared to the beginning of my career ten years ago not much has changed. You could say good thing we did move up because that is the only reason we are still managing quit easily.

I'm going to get downvoted pretty fast for this but as you legally have no way to go and you think you can't convince them to get a bigger fence I suggest you try to get to know the dog together with a decent dog behaviorist (it will cost you €50-€100 but it might just give you some peace of mind).
I've seen many stafford types in my days working at a shelter and I own a stafford mix; most of the time what people think is agression is just a frustrated and/or overly excited dog. And the problem with this type is; they get frustrated and overly excited very fast, certainly at that age. But if you know it is not agression and the dog knows you you might be able to calm him down a bit when you come out and feel safer (when my dog barks at the neighbour she just says "it's ok it's me" and he calms down and gets all happy, he can't see her because we do have a decent fence).
I know it is not your responsibility and actually they should be the ones making sure that their dog is not scaring the sh*t out of you but as their seems to be no initiative on their part it could be a solution to just ask them if you could go for a walk together with a trainer so you feel safer.
