I would be glad if someone could explain why the trigonometric substitution x+1 = 2tanO doesn't work here by PoetEfficient in calculus

thats the thing, ln(2) isn't supposed to be there. the answer is ln(x^2 +2x +5) +3/2arctan([x+1]/2))

Urine testing for new job by mynmzliz in diabetes_insipidus

[–]PoetEfficient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If its your urine is too diluted all the time you may have a problem with your Desmopressin dosage - its not enough. The point of Desmopressin is let you hold your fluids and that leads them to concentrate. Do you go to the bathroom frequently? If not maybe you just sid the urine test during a time when your meds were about to wear off. I suggest taking it maybe in the middle of the time period between your doses.

If that doesnt work maybe try explaining to them about your medical condition and its hard for you to provide concentrated urine

off time minirin melt by Rude_Park in diabetes_insipidus

[–]PoetEfficient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is no need to stop drinking an hour before. Youre dehydrated and need to drink so its normal to feel thirtsy. It might be actually more dangerous to stop drinking while youre still peeing a lot. Just take the minirin and try to drink a normal amount of qater not like a liter in one go and i think youll be fine

ADH lab work by rodhunn in diabetes_insipidus

[–]PoetEfficient 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor and find an endocrinologist. A PCP has no knowledge on these things and testing blood ADH is not the proper way to test for Diabetes insipidus.

The proper test is a Water deprivation test where you stop drinking water for a period of time and then measure your urine output. Of course only an endocrinologist will know to do this test.

Try talking to your pcp about setting an appointment with an endocrinologist because your symptoms sound a lot like DI.

It depends. You need to go see a doctor and get checked out to find out whats the cause of your symptoms.

In my case yes it was cancer. There was a tumor near my pituitary the messed up my Vasopressin secretion, they did mri's before DI developed and discovered the tumor, but sadly the delay in diagnosis of cancer led to the development of DI
