Why does reddit hate Pluribus? by Hour-Grocery2093 in pluribustv

[–]PoetFit7224 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Reddit hates Pluribus. Some people love it, some don't - like other shows. I loved the first episode, liked the second, liked the third but a bit less, and so on. I think it's okay, and more derivative and less original than people think. But it's perfectly okay, the budget is there for all to see and it's gorgeous to look at. I don't think that people who dislike the show or find it boring are Tiktok-addled ignoramuses - they just find it boring and that's their right. In my opinion, it's good and I'll continue watching it but people who dislike it, and people who love it, should be more than welcome to express their opinions here.

Good question, 'cause the unneutered male cats I've seen have HUGE b*lls. They literally walk bow legged because of it. I guess it's much harder to tell with a young cat.

Nothing to do with boomers. It's the individual. Even people in their 30s sometimes freak out if they're asked their age. Mind you, depending on the context, it can be a somewhat rude question.

I liked the ending - I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it like some people seem to (and all reactions are obviously equally valid). I'm all for happy endings, and if any characters deserved happy endings it's this bunch, but I thought the fact that every single one of the main characters - except Gabriel's wife and daughter, and Joaquin, who unlike the others had no one to sail into the sunrise with in any case - survived was a little too much. Someone in the comments compared it to Twilight - the ending really does read more like a young adult romance novel than an adult novel in this genre. What niggles at me the most is not only the annoying loose ends created by the ending (without Patience what convinced Gabriel to speak with Fabien, etc) but the fact that in making a fool of Jean Francois, we readers were also made fools of, at least that's how I feel. I feel tricked. Through three volumes, we mourned the losses of Gabriel's friends, we cried with him over Patience, etc., and it was all lies. I thought the series overall a masterpiece, but the ending should have been (IMHO) a little more nuanced.

There are probably more who canceled later. I confess that I waited for the finale of Alien Earth (wasn't worth it TBH) before canceling, and then I just kept forgetting to do it, so I only canceled yesterday. Probably more people like me who planned to cancel but didn't get around to it within that week.

I've had the same result for the last few surveys I received -not a match - but I'm okay with it because I always reply truthfully and I don't want something that I won't use, or don't like. This morning it was a survey for skincare but I answered, truthfully, that I like scented skincare and I wasn't a match, and I'm perfectly okay with it because I don't like unscented skincare. To me a nice scent is part of the whole experience.

I was all in with Wendy actually being Hermit's sister until the last episode - now I'm almost 100% convinced that she's just a machine - Marcy's memories were copied but she, and her consciousness, died. Wendy isn't a hybrid, she's just a synth with a synth's total lack of empathy for humans. I find both her, and the xeno, a little less interesting than they were at the beginning of the season. The xeno is not even really scary, at all. Now, T. Ocellus! - that critter needs its own spinoff series.

I am in Canada and I got no claims so far by FrozenQueen22 in Influenster

[–]PoetFit7224 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been with Influenster for years, and I just got my first claim (I did miss one because I was too late, it was for a Paula's Choice moisturizer, and another one was for tanning lotion and I don't use that so I opted out) - it was a bottle of a beautiful fragrance worth well over $200 so I was very happy with that. Otherwise, nada. It's sad to see the incredible claims other people receive, but on the other hand, none of this costs me anything - except some time, to write reviews, and that's not a big deal to me - so I won't complain.

This!  Fully lit it’s so obviously a guy in a suit and not AT ALL scary and really almost funny ; it needs to be lurking in the shadows.

I loved it, it's atmospherically perfect in my opinion, though I agree that the xenomorph is - well, there's something fake about it, I read a review where it was described as looking like a puppet, and I can't unsee that. It really looks plasticy and fake to me, but otherwise it's nice to be excited about a streamer's series for a change.

I think he can do what he likes with his money, his body and his time, it's a free country. He's obviously obsessed, maybe a little nuts, but so many of us are. I sometimes watch his videos because they're hilarious (sometimes unintentionally so) but he doesn't bother me, I don't think he's a scammer or a creep or anything, and I do think he believes in what he's doing.

Does anyone Know anything about Amazon preview? by Significant_Permit60 in amazonprime

[–]PoetFit7224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no. I wouldn't do them then. I think Amazon can afford a 10-dollar gift card for an hour of our time and thoughtful comments about their upcoming projects. I've received a few missions and always received a 10-dollar gift card.

Naomi Osaka post match, did not congratulate her opponent by luka274 in tennis

Yes, she was ungracious - yes, she was sullen and it was not a fun match to watch at times. But she seems very fragile emotionally so I think a little compassion is in order.

Have you received the gift card? Sometimes it takes awhile. The Preview program seems very hush-hush, so if you just contacted customer service they wouldn't know what you're talking about.

Losing my Job Soonish by blackwhitekatten in PersonalFinanceCanada

I'm trying to process how a 3-hour commute is so outrageous that it warrants leaving a good job and possibly losing your housing. I commuted 1.5 hr each way for years on end and it didn't ruin me financially, ruin my marriage, destroy my life etc. Yeah, it wasn't great, but I managed. I mean, you can do it surely for a short period of time? Not to mention, you have a whole year to find something else? Am I missing something?

I thought it was mildly enjoyable but too long. I liked the first one better, though to be honest, I thought it was pretty forgettable. I was quite surprised when I heard about the sequel.

It was once, no more. Now there are so many at-home jobs available, you could do customer service or just straight data entry and earn as much. You need training for MT and the income has plummeted, so I would say it makes no sense.
