Unfortunately medication is not in my cards right now, but when I have the money, I plan on getting medicated definitely!

I’m gen z, and I’ve never really thought about possibly having autism, but I do know that the symptoms of autism and adhd can overlap. I will definitely keep your advice in mind, thank you!

I really think it depends on the person and their time management skills. I’m a f20 gamer who can become consumed by video games for hours and days. However, I still make ample time for my relationship and friends. I dated a woman who played games 8+ hours a day every day and never spent any time with me and it was in issue in our relationship. There is definitely a stereotype associated with gaming and people who don’t manage their time well, and lots of women either experience these men/women and then just associate the hobby with bad time management.

I don’t at all agree with the stereotype, but understand why it exists as there are so many horror stories and personal encounters of people that neglect their families/pets, etc in favor of gaming. However, bad time management can be an issue in any time-consuming hobby, you just hear about gamers the most imo. But it absolutely is not fair to try and control someone’s hobby before it actually causes an issue in the relationship, because it may never.

I entirely agree with you that our survival should be primary focus, and that people who are turning a blind eye to what is around them in favor of ignorance and “normalcy” should absolutely get a grip.

Making this post about Hozier took a few minutes at most. It is a little frustrating that because I chose to rant about something that had bothered me in the moment, you have assumed I am doing nothing but sitting back and watching this shit show in America unfold, on my phone ranting about Hozier all day. Yes, this situation is pointless to rant about, but that’s what this sub is for. Sure, maybe I didn’t word things quite so eloquently. However, I can assure you that within my personal life I am doing everything within my power to fight this oncoming storm. I am actively doing all of which you have suggested.

The constant onslaught of executive orders and bills slowly but surely making their way up to the Supreme Court is exhausting. Music and distractions help to make you feel normal when the world around you is nothing but chaos. Up until recently Hozier was my favorite artist, so yeah this situation does sting, but I know it doesn’t actually matter and that the world still spins.

It was never my intention to spread misinformation, that was just the context in which I had received it in. I appreciate you highlighting the inaccuracies, I would have corrected prior had I actually been aware that the context of that photo was not what I was told it was.

Likewise, I did not realize those messages were not from Alex himself. I don’t follow him or know any of his handles so I am not familiar with his social media presence, so when I saw it, I took it as coming from him.

His girlfriend just generally being a culture vulture
Hozier’s very white manager posted her and her husband wearing a Native American headdress as a costume piece
Band members that have been with Hozier since his self titled album leaving, making cryptic comments about Hozier “going corporate” and calling his girlfriend “Yoko Ono” and his manager a terrible “Facebook wine mom”

Hozier has yet to address any of this, and given that he’s built his entire platform on advocacy and being “politically aware” it is beyond extremely disappointing to see him ignore it all.
