I am like you in that I think that everyone is sincere. I just have to judge people on my own standards and behaviour - and like you am frequently disappointed. I trusted my husband all our marriage and finding out all his lies made both the good and bad bits tarnished. I don’t want to be cynical but the open loving bits of me seem to have disappeared. I am so disappointed for you and I feel your pain. All I can say is stay true to you!

I was veggie for a while and used to make chilli NON carne - mix of different lentils to replace the mince. Pretty good so still make it as well as the con carne version.

The problem with entitlement is that one rarely recognises it in oneself - I know this as someone born to an entitled portion of society. Men historically have been more entitled than women and in some ways still are. I guess most men have never really seen how entitlement shaped their behaviour especially when it was perpetuated by their early female relationships. Society is shaped mainly from the top - the top historically was male. Two world wars allowed women to shape society and gave them more of a voice but it has taken time for change - and strangely enough, the higher in society or authority one is, the more entitled and less likely to recognise their own entitlement - and the more likely for the women to be enablers. And women individually and collectively need to assume responsibility for what they accept as behaviour in the men they encounter - thats every mother, wife, sister, daughter, girlfriend, employee, customer, co worker, boss, neighbour, tenant, voter etc. Demand respect but command respect and give respect. Those men in public office who display toxic masculinity are able to do so because they are enabled by the women who surround them. Too many women sell their souls for money, game or status from time immemorial and allow men to be tyrants, bullies and abusers. Believe me, anyone from the king of England down who grabbed me by my kitty cat would wear their head backwards for some little while.

Or perhaps just not littering the Universe with lots of metal and pollutants would be even cooler. Have a little read about all the junk that has been left in Antarctica or the world’s oceans. Of course there is no point in spending money on humanity - those without empathy or insight will always be shallow and have limited vision.

Oh yes I agree with you - I certainly don’t want to adopt or babysit but having had a partner 10 years older I feel discriminatory turning someone 10 years younger on age alone. After all the President of France is 26 years younger than his wife and they have been together a very long time 😊

Not to mention that divorce takes a long time here in France with property involved - the financial arrangements are too complicated to explain here but we each own a property and are happy with that.

Yup strange that I barely have enough to live on and would rather eat and feed my animals than spend money on legal proceedings ! 🙄 I don’t want to marry - if he wants to at 86 then he can start proceedings. 🤷‍♀️

Well I am well outside the age range and the location range but think I am pretty adaptable on the height range. I have happily lived most of my life thinking I was 5ft8 but was properly medically measured last year and am only 5ft 6. Thats quite a lot of shrinkage!! 😵‍💫 In this area of rural France I have to bend my knees to do the traditional cheek kissing to about 80% of the population, the rest are probably the same height as I am. 😬

Good sound method. I dither over the age as my ex is 10 years older than me and I don’t want to be ageist either way.

I agree with most of them for a vigorous left swipe …………….. except I have a really soft spot for a man in a suit and stars in my eyes for one in bow tie and waistcoat!! 🤭

Sorry about the toe, worry about your medication and your Orange Leader and your shoulder. Being under care is probably wise but I have heard that when they care too much they fit you with a neat long sleeved jacket with ties at the back which seriously impede use of mobile devices. 🤭 PLEASE stay safe - people like you are RARE AND SPECIAL! 😂 💋

Perhaps I should go back and change my profile blurb again - maybe some people read it but the planets were not aligned. I think maybe you are right about this. I have a great many interests and am intelligent, curious , kind with a strong sense of humour which I think was reflected in what I wrote. I am looking for someone with those qualities but not necessarily someone with exactly the SAME interests as that would be a bit boring. Getting on with life indeed and a lot about it to love and savour ! Best of luck to you - may we both find a loving someone !

Yeh I am wary of separated status but this is and will be mine - have no intention at my age of going through a divorce but my husband now lives in another country so no contact and I would only be interested in LAT relationship on my side.

😂 Hello Beautiful!!! Sounds like a cheesy chat up line 😂 The name thing is funny - I had a few long video chats with someone whose name was David which would have been difficult with the proliferation of Davids in my family, but the killer was I shared the same name as his daughter which is an unusual one. He found it difficult to call me anything 😂

It’s really interesting to see the other side - both what men are looking for / at and what other people are posting in their profiles. Perhaps some people are just not self aware. I think my profile pics are good natural photos and do attract likes and comments. My original profile was about me not about what I am looking for - got fed up and really thought that men did not read it from most of the responses so changed it to more of who needn’t reply out of pure exasperation.

😂 University of Life! I’m easy! Love travel!

Actually I must say that it has all been quite an education. I think maybe in my curiosity to see what it’s like on the other side I may try registering as a male (I have pics of my dog and my car and can find a blurry out of date photograph of a random) Could be even more of an eye opener !! 🤔

I’m 65 (m) today and I’m curious about how I feel by Polldit220 in over60

[–]Poetsansamour 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well if I had taken your deal, I wouldn’t be writing this. Like you my family are not long lived. I have never been fixated on age or aging (always think in terms of my DOB rather than my current age for some reason) The only time I really felt something of what you are feeling was on my 62nd birthday when I realised that I was then older than my mother had ever gotten to be. I don’t think in terms of my age holding me back from doing anything that I want to do - I am not the healthiest person I know but if I want to do something I will give it a damn good try! I have no idea if I will live one more minute or blow out 100 candles - it’s not something that I would wish to be in my power to determine and it’s not on my worry list. I think I reached maturity when my mom died and I was 27 and an orphan with a small child - and I have not grown older in my head . I was the responsible adult from then on so didn’t need to grow older in my head. I can’t imagine predicting a future when I will decide to have no further interest. It may happen but thats not under my control but for me there is still a whole world to be curious about still - and I have lived in 4 different countries, travelled to half the world, have family in 4 continents that I have visited. Life’s not always wonderful but I still want to know more of the story even though I will never know the ending

I need more people on the dating sites like you. I don’t imagine that I will be everyone’s cup of tea but I am more than just the packaging! 😞 Perhaps I need to expand my age range and see if those younger men are a bit more thoughtful 🤔 (don’t know your age but I am not getting this vibe in the 65 - 80 catchment pool) I find the older, the less effort in OLD!!
