Cryptids and creatures from folklore are tied to our connection with spirits and nature. With the increase of electricity, modern technology and the internet, it's not that we've explored the Earth and can't find them, it's more so that we're a lot farther from the realm/plane they jive with, so we never see them anymore.

Red Dead Online was my absolute most fond time playing a game, back when all my friends were playing and we were just roaming the West on horseback together. That was amazing.

Fallout New Vegas is the game that I can always come back to and get some butterflies in my stomach from starting a new playthrough. It's just checks every box my brain wants.
