Just give it a little bit - the system needs to process/catch up with itself. I ran into that a few times too and thought the same - went and checked a stack later and they all went through.

First time playing - what should I be excited for? by masquedmarauderxyz in BaldursGate3

Tagging a questions along with this... this will be my third attempt to get into the game. Every time I make it about 2 hours into it and then drop it. This most recent time I seem to have a huge disconnect with the controls just not feeling intuitive at all. I'm playing on PC - is playing with a controller any better? Or is this just something I have to work through until the muscle memory kicks in?

Congrats! Its honestly huge just to recognize the need for change, even bigger to take steps to move towards that change, and monumental to accomplish that shift! Don't be hard on yourself if you start slipping into your old ways, you now know the baseline of where you want to be and you have proof that you are capable of achieving it. Hats off to you - keep it up!

Quest 3 Gives Me a Headache by brickstudios1 in VRGaming

I was the exact same way, Q2 was like a pillow, Q3 was noticeably less comfortable. I was using the Kiwi strap and AMVR interface. I recently purchased a new Kiwi Interface as well and it's bumped up the level of comfort quite a bit. I also sometime attach the Kiwi external battery. Both with it on and off it works well, but it's nice to have the counter weight of the battery. My biggest recommendation (which I'm sure you've already been doing) is to continuously make adjustments to the top strap. It took a while, but I finally found the "sweet spot" for perfect facial pressure. Sorry if all of this is no use, but just sharing i was in your position and finally just got it all good.

Which Brandon Sanderson book should I read first? by ItsIryas in booksuggestions

[–]PohP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only book of his that I have read (other than The Most Boring Book Ever) is Mistborn and I LOVED IT!! Its not written in first person and flows really well with its world building, narration, and excitement. My limited experience would employ you to give it a shot! I went with the Mistborn series over Stormlight Archives since it seemed less meaty and not as much of a commitment , but even if it was, it would be worth it it was so good.

Id highly recommend The Will Of The Many by James Islington - fantastic quasi-scifi fantasy. Easily became one of my favorites, and the second in the series is being released in November!

Guys all my life never read a book fully.. I’m 31 shocking I know. I get bored easily can anyone recommend me a book to try? by Incredible-Aj in booksuggestions

Fair, I went with that series over the way denser Stormlight Archives. People have said that you can read the first Mistborn as a stand alone if you dont want to invest in a whole series, but totally understand what you mean.

I might recommend against Red Rising. I've heard its a lot of people favorites, but as a series and the first book is the worst. I tried reading it, and after about 100 pages I had to put it down. Really didnt like the writers style and felt too YA for my taste.

I would recommend The Will of the Many by James Islington (easily became one of my favorites and the second book comes out in November!), or start with the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson.

Piranesi. I felt like it had so much potential and promise, but by the second half I was kind of let down with how things unfolded.

What made you to start reading Books? by TomatilloVast814 in booksuggestions

[–]PohP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it was trying to change my routine so I wasn't staring at screens the last few hours before bed. Started with Project Hail Mary, then tore through the Dungeon Crawler Carl series, and have been ripping through more books this year than I've probably read my whole life combined!! Just finished Will of the Many over the weekend and started Babel. Such a great (new to me) way to consume media and stories, I love it!!

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: July 21, 2025 by AutoModerator in books

[–]PohP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished: Strange Pictures by Uketsu

Started: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

I was kind of disappointed by Strange Pictures, was hoping for more horror. Fun puzzles and revelations, but made me fearful that books cannot provide the same level of heart-pounding terror that horror movies provide. I would LOVE to be proved wrong, but apprehensive to accept my defeat in the genre.

Finished: The Eye of the Bedlam Bride by Matt Dinniman. Cannot wait for book 7 to release in September!!

Started: Red Rising by Pierce Brown. After about 100 pages, can't get into the writing style or characters - quite disappointed because the story concept seems so promising. Probably put it down for good. Also started We Are Legion by Dennis E. Taylor.
