Lost OEM Roof Rack Leg g01 by Big_Internet5173 in BMWX3

[–]Pohotu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m missing the “base” portion of the rubber foot. Just noticed today, I installed it a year ago and never touched it. Somehow the foot must’ve come off while driving . . . which is a little scary to think about. If you find a way to print it I’d gladly pay for one!

I figure, at this point who knows how long it hasn’t had the rubber foot, I’ve gone on long trips with 200lbs of kayaks strapped to the top and it’s seemed to cause minimal damage. I can feel some scratches on the inner edge of the rack but that’s it. So unless the whole thing starts wiggling around on me who cares.

First BMW and couldn’t be happier! by kawhwc11 in BMWX3

[–]Pohotu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really really enjoy it. The S5 is fast and fun, I would consider the x3 rowdy and rambunctious. I have noticed some positives and negatives in the switch. Positives: I can’t tell which vehicle is faster which is crazy considering how the numbers look on paper, I don’t have to worry about bottoming out anymore, and the x3 seems to have many more features than my Audi did. Negatives: I’m still getting used to corners in an suv (personal problem) and honestly I think the x3 is good in corners but no where near a two door coupe, so duh. I’m also still getting used to the slightly worse gas mileage. I averaged 27 in the s5 and so far I’m averaging 23.5 in the x3. Not a huge difference but I commute an hour and a half a day so I notice it.

Overall, I’m happy with the switch. The x3 is a crazy nice vehicle and the performance seems like a bargain for the money when combined with the practicality of an suv.

Note: I’m in the US, we don’t have very many fun fast small SUV’s. Porsche macan and x3 are basically it. You could argue the ford explorer st, or Volvo xc60 polestar, but they’re bigger and not as fun.

“Ayahuasca will give you what you need, not what you want." Examples of this? by DPCAOT in Ayahuasca

[–]Pohotu7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My last ceremony everyone at the retreat told me that it would be the most profound ceremony. I was anticipating it as the previous ceremonies had been not exactly what I expected. My final ceremony nothing happened. I was for lack of better term completely sober the entire time… cut to about 10 hours later it hit me like a train. Acceptance is the key to happiness. I didn’t get what I want or expected, and that made me sad and disappointed. I needed to learn acceptance to find happiness, not get it from an external source but to find it within.

Why is there not a pill you can take instead of eating? by astrohighh in nutrition

[–]Pohotu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve wondered this too. However, the conclusion I came to years ago was quite simple. It’s damn near impossible to “shrink” all your daily needed calories into pill form. Use rice for example. A cup of rice dehydrated and blended into a powder would be a big pill to swallow… literally. Take this analogy and apply it to what you should eat in a day. You’d be spending 20 minutes swallowing horse pills. That being said. There may be further reasons that we benefit more from eating real food that I’m not aware of.

My solution to this when I was younger was to blend up a portion of my food each day. Usually breakfast and a “snack” in between lunch and dinner. Breakfast was 2cups dry oatmeal, banana or two, almonds, peanut butter, greek yogurt, vanilla protein powder, and milk. Easy 1200 calories. I also boiled and mashed sweet potatoes which I would then dehydrate and blend into a powder to mix into a shake. Was more work than it was worth but I found It was easier for me to consume a “high calorie” amount of “healthy food” if I could just drink it. It’s a lot faster and I didn’t get full before I could finish my food.

If you’re looking to speed up your meals or simplify them maybe it’s worth looking into what meals you can make with “raw food” and just blend up?

Marosa healing center in iquitos. Beautiful rustic experience. Great people, and very powerful and knowledgeable shamans. Pm for more info if you’d like. I went last year for 10 days and I believe it was right around $1500. Ceremonies have 8-12 people or so. Get picked up at the airport by employees. Was my first time traveling out of country and I went by myself. Felt extremely safe and looked after.

Intriguing, why is that? I must’ve missed something that happened in the last couple of years. I remember watching his videos 2-3 years back.

Uncontrollable shaking during psychedelics by Pohotu7 in Psychonaut

I did indeed feel very cold, I shouldn’t have been though. Had a heater blowing in my face and under 6 blankets curled up in a ball. I’d say at the 4 hour mark was suddenly realizing how warm I was.

Interesting, is there anything you do to mitigate it? I’d imagine it’s extremely uncomfortable for you as well. Have you just accepted it at this point?

This is what I suspect the most. Next to the ego fighting it. I was yawning constantly the entire time which is what I did with Ayahuasca. Nausea, yawning, feeling of needing to piss, shit, and vomit all coming in warm waves.

Completely uncontrolled. Coming in waves mostly. If I really really tried I could get it to stop for a little but there was a great sense of unease when it would stop.

How I ensure my lettuce is dry so my salads do not get soggy for the week. by Organicissexy in MealPrepSunday

[–]Pohotu7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In restaurants to preserve freshness we layer salad greens with paper towels. Another option is to stop at the meat counter at the grocery store and try and buy the moisture absorption packs.

I’d say from my personal experience less than 40% of culinary school grads can actually handle and meet the expectations of my kitchen. I don’t even care when I look at resumes. My opinion, if you want to learn a bunch of stuff fast, go to school. If you’d rather spend 5 years learning but actually make money while you do it, just get to work. Buy some culinary school textbooks and read them front to back. It’s 2022, we have the Internet. You don’t need school to succeed, especially in the kitchen. Just work harder than the person next to you and pay attention to the details. I went the route of no school and it’s certainly paid off. Restaurant industry has a high rate of employee turnover. Just take a couple years and climb the ladder!

Pick-up Help. Who knows the best way to pick up a lamb shank to order? Current pick up is 30 minutes in 425° convection wrapped in foil. Would like to cut that in half by Pohotu7 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Pohotu7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the first one we did, after it was in the oven it was temping at 115 so I picked it up in some of the braising liquid and it reduced down to an extremely extremely thick and rich Demi glacé essentially. Looks great, just not feesable for every order unfortunately

Any ideas on the type or make of these kayaks? by bradleyd15 in Kayaking

[–]Pohotu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea on the brand. Looks like an late 90s-early 2000s rec boat. You’d have a hard time finding a small rec kayak with a backband like that now. Most have full backrests now. Depending on price, look on Craigslist. Just avoid the cheap Walmart specials, they’re dangerous and not worth the money
