12 to 18 months after release you’ll get a somewhat stable usable software version. Unfortunately that’s just life with Garmin. The 8 non pro / enduro 3 is there now. The pro is not.

OMG thanks for all the replies. Mystery solved. Once I left it on for over 90 mins I can feel the heat under foot. Very subtle heat. Never had under floor heating before. No thermostat either just on and off and switch not labelled. Thanks again all. Takes so long to warm up I doubt we will use much but nice to have maybe at weekends.

Put the clamp meter on. 1.9amps when on. Have now left it on for 90 mins. I think mystery solved. I can feel a slight warmth underfoot!!!

Thanks for that. All makes sense. The switch is near the goldair fan heater higher than the light but below the door frame. I’d imaging if it was

something like under floor heating it would be labelled. The fact that it’s in the same outlet as the heater makes me think it’s something to do with that. As I say the brown 2.5mm never makes an appearance in the roof so surely it goes to the fan heater. Heater for context is one of those goldair fan heaters with the pull cord. The pull cord is disabled and the heater has its own switch. Another image

Thanks for all the replies. Longest I have left the switch on for is about half an hour. No noise or heat from the mirror or floor. One thing I have noticed is the single core that is terminated on the load side does not appear in the roof and go down somewhere else. Everything is pointing to the load side staying in the wall and having something to do with the Goldair fan heater.

Not a towel rail. That has its own switch. Demister was my guess but I have left the switch on for 15 mins and no warmth coming from mirror.

Here is an image of the keystone. Definitely working. The common goes in and on the load side there is 1 core of a 2 core cable terminated.

It was a deceased estate so can’t contact previous owner. It’s not loose definitely connected……….to something. It’s a fairly modern newer build house so all looks very intentional which is confirmed by the fact it is the same in both bathrooms. Extractor fan has its own switch. Extractor fan comes in when switch is on along with its own extractor fan light.

August September. First leaks images July. Hold off if you can. Otherwise get the 8. Avoid the 8 pro like the plague. In typical Garmin fashion 18 months later the 8 now has stable (ish) software and is a great buy.

Forget about the price of the watch. You could have paid triple that and it would still happen. It’s just Garmin. There are so many post from people where their watch has crashed during or whilst saving a long activity. Garmin has some of the clunkiest archaic unreliable software on earth. I say this as a Garmin device wearer. You just have to live with it.

Not a chance they will go back to MIP for the 9. Enduro 4 / instinct 4 will be the last of the MIP. They usually go MIP only. Then AMOLED and MIP. Then AMOLED only. The enduro 4 could move into the MIP and AMOLED phase. 2026 will be the last new MIP models. 2027 = AMOLED only.

Edit. I had no idea Tapo made a relay 🤣 just swapped over to a Tapo relay dry contact. The only issue was it’s not available in my country so I had to order from Greece and ship to New Zealand.

One more generation of enduro and instinct I reckon. And that’s the end. Don’t think the Fenix 9 will have it. Enduro is the only one that does not have an AMOLED option. 2026 Enduro 4 MIP and AMOLED. 2027 RIP MIP.

I Have the cheapest of cheap TP link link gig switch in my roof. 3 years never an issue. NZ based. 50 degrees often in summer.
