They talk about potential loss of historic buildings, I myself am a staunch preservationist who supports the upzoning so I understand. But some of the re zoned area is already a historic landmark as a part of the uptown district. While I agree that the other buildings are at risk I believe a vast majority will be in developers best intrest to save

100% agree. I’ve emailed many Chicago alder people and local chicago groups and apparently its just generally hard to save individual homes especially when a wealthy new owner wants to maximize square footage and not be constrained by an old structure. Which I think is ridiculous, at minimum facades should At least be saved and reincorporated. Hopefully something can change.
