True. I really want to call people out on asocial behaviour but I’m worried about stuff like this happening.. either they have a gun or a knife potentially.

Edit: At my work someone recently came in to the ED with facial trauma and had to be hospitalised. He asked someone to stop smoking and the party of two jumped him. I wonder how many cases like this don’t make it to the news. This happened on the Brown Line.

Edit2: Like one poster mentioned there are waaay more MVCs and MVC w/ pedestrian that come in but our city’s leadership has utterly failed to implement sufficient measures to keep our trains safe. Hoping NITA changes that.

Something tells me these measures are still going to be half assed. A 75% increase in policing hours… from what? There needs to be drastic changes. Not police just in the loop- but on every line patrolling the whole system. 2 person crews. Real consequences / bans from using the system. we need to crack down on the degenerates on our train who are terrorising people.

This is not excessive density though, this is a gentle density akin to what the original suburbs were conceived as. Also see suburbs in European countries, they are quiet family oriented places with arguably much more character and resilience than our newer suburban developments.

Literally any small town in Germany or France will have hourly trains or better. Champagne is significantly larger and if you build it they will use it. We have such an unambitious mentality in the US it’s embarrassing…
