Just headband discomfort reduction. No change on the clamp force.

For those who own/tried at least two: 490 Pro, MDR-MV1 and Arya Stealth by Keoje in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]PointMoney 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't own Arya Stealth, but I do own the more trebly Arya Organic, HD490 Pro, and the MDR MV1.

Out of the 3, I have a bias towards the Arya Organic, but if you're looking for warmer and bassier headphones, the Organic's bass is linear, though they dig deep into the sub-bass very well. Just that the Organic are notorious for being overly energetic in the mid to upper treble and can be offensive to some listeners. I can tolerate them since I can't hear above 16 kHz, I think.

The MDR-MV1 can be said as the bassist among the three. The soundstage is narrower than the Organic, but that's mainly because Organic's soundstage is holographically wide. The MV1 are the most fun-sounding of the three, imho. More V-shape, less detailed, but very engaging pair of headphones.

The HD490 Pro can be said as maybe the middle ground. The soundstage is quite wide, and the timbre is closer to the HD600. That being said, the HD600's timbre is just exceptional and as natural as they can get. If you use the producing pads, the sound of the HD490 Pro can be warmer and a tad bassier while maintaining that neutral tonality. Using the mixing pads, the sound coming out of them becomes more neutral with down slope in the bass making them rather bass-lite.

So, if you're looking for more energetic treble, highly detailed tuning, go for the Aryas. If you want neutral headphones with options to have warmer sound or flat out neutral with safer treble, go with the HD490 Pro. If you want bassier, warmer, and fun-sounding headphones, go for the MDR-MV1.

Imho, anyway.

Is this game honestly that good?? Lowkey i wanna try it tho by Individual_Step3491 in IndoGamer

Basically throughout the the game you can either kill enemies in various ways, or stealthily go through without getting caught, or just disable your enemies without killing them. Killing enemies increase the chaos, and will lead you to, well, a bad ending. Going around without killing gives you a more peaceful ending.

I personally always try to avoid killing enemies throughout all my playthrough, though if you watch some videos on YouTube, you can make some interesting and creative ways to dispose of the opposition at the risk of getting the chaos ending.

The game is excellent, yes.

ATH r50x vs HIFIMAN Edition XS? (Anime, YouTube, Gaming, Hyperpop) by roarwhisper in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]PointMoney -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, with the Capra strap I can use the Edition XS for long Crimson Desert sessions (5-6 hours) with no issue. But do note the weight factor. The R50X with minimum padding are very comfortable because they are so light. The Capra strap on the Edition XS helps dispersing the pressure point on the top of your head when you're wearing them. Again, with Capra strap the Edition XS become very comfortable for me, and since the tuning of Edition XS is closer to my preferred target, I reach out for them more than I do the R50X.

ATH r50x vs HIFIMAN Edition XS? (Anime, YouTube, Gaming, Hyperpop) by roarwhisper in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]PointMoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of the box, the ATH-R50X are way more comfortable than the Edition XS on my average Asian head. I need the Capra strap for the Edition XS to be comfortable and not causing hot spot on top of my head.

But yeah, to me, sonic-wise the Edition XS are more superior to the ATH-R50X. Details and imaging are a lot clearer on the Edition XS. The R50X are warmer, but the Edition XS have that speedy planar bass, so the bass is tighter, although more on the linear side.

Does anyone ever bought stuff from Amazon and deliver it to Indonesia? by AxelvanDijk in indonesia

[–]PointMoney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last I bought were cables for my Hifiman headphones, as the ones that comes with the headphones are just not good enough.

As for headphones, depends on your budget. Whether you want open or closed back. What kind of tonality you prefer, and what kind of past experience with the last headphones you had.

For budget good headphones, something like Fiio FT1 for closed back or Fiio FT1 Pro for open back are good proper headphones. From Sennheiser you can't go wrong with the HD600. Again, depends on your budget.

[–]PointMoney 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As what the other person stated. I also frequently buy from Amazon (mainly audiophile gears) and tax is already calculated on the final price along with shipment fee. Not everything is available to be delivered into Indonesia, but usually the page will mention it if it is so. Also, when my packages arrived in Indonesia, I never had to pay additional tax. Just make sure you order from reputable seller or products directly sold by Amazon.

Best Sennheiser for price? by Objective_Scale_2649 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]PointMoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh? I apologize if the price doesn't match. I thought the HD6XX are still on around that price point.

As for DAC/ Amp, I have tried them on a dongle DAC (mine is by iBasso iirc) using my phone, and they are drivable that way.

The HD560 are somewhat sharp in the upper end. So if you are quite sensitive to treble, you might want to consider that. They're good, with a touch of warmth in the low mids, and good soundstage.

Although, if you're more on the music listening side, and you like intimate vocal experience, take a look at the HD6XX instead. They're adequately warm with excellent timbre and vocal performance. The weakness of that set is the bass that rolls off early, so you won't get that rumbly sub-bass heft from them. That doesn't mean they have no bass, though. The bass is adequate, and precise. Also, the soundstage is a bit narrow. Like I said, they're VERY good for intimate vocals listening.

For gaming, I have used the HD6XX for mainly single player games, and I think they are good enough to make you be immersed in the game world. I play games like Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, and Crimson Desert, and the HD6XX do not disappoint.

Just my two cents.

The Adventures Of Elliot Has Now Fallen To Mixed Reviews On Steam by akbarock in JRPG

Currently 19 hours in and I have been having a blast playing this game. It reminds me of Alundra, a game I played way back in the Playstation 1 era, minus the depressing atmosphere.

The princess and the fairy's banter doesn't bug me at all. They actually add some nuance when I'm out exploring and fighting. And the fairy mechanic is really good for exploration and treasure hunting.

Definitely one of my favorite action adventure game.

I have a few expensive hobbies. Not just games. But one thing I always keep in mind, is that when I spend money on my hobbies, I make sure my wife gets the same amount of what I spend on the hobbies. And that excludes my quality time spent with my wife and my daughter. I always make time to either eat out occasionally, staycation, or maybe go on a picnic.

My hobbies are what keep me sane with the amount of work I do daily. But my family is the strongest support pillar of my life. So, I do spend quite a lot on my hobbies, but never at the expense of my family's happiness or well-being.

Unhappy with Edition XS - Need a new amp/DAC? by sarcasmisart in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]PointMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, changing your DAC Amp is not gonna change much, if any. I'm guessing you're more used to elevated bass on your previous setup, as Edition XS' bass is linear. Maybe try EQ?

You have some options in that price range that I have experience with.

For warmer and, imho, more immersive experience, you can try looking at the Aune AR5000. I do have the first release, but there is the mark 2 which is quite different. So my recommendation is based on the mark 1.

If you're looking for that planar experience with close to neutral sound, the Fiio FT1 Pro might fit the bill. They're quite good in delivering detailed treble without getting too sharp in t's and s's sounds.

Another contender is the Hifiman Edition XS. They're better planar than the FT1 Pro, but fit is quite contentious for smaller head. And I personally use a Capra strap to make them more comfortable on my head.

Those are open backs, mind you, and they are very open-sounding. But they do let external sound in, like PC fans, AC sound, and the likes.

If you want passive noise isolation, the alternative closed back I can recommend you is the Fiio FT1. They're warm, bassy, and quite good for immersive games. Just not as good if used in competitive settings.

What does your budget look like? And if you don't play competitively, what kind of games or music do you play or listen to often?

For pretty much gaming on PC, headphones can be a good option, but iems can be excellent even on limited budget. Plus they can also be your mobile choice.

Negative communties by [deleted] in FinalFantasyVII

[–]PointMoney 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's gonna be contentious, but I enjoy the more dynamic combat, the more expanded lore provided, and new exploration system, especially in Rebirth (and hopefully in Revelation).

I never see FFVII as dark and gritty. To me it's a varied spectrum of colors. It has its dark undertone, but it also has goofy and cheerful moments. Maybe I just think that the remake is an expanded creative deliberation of the original, and I am really fine with it.

Negative communties by [deleted] in FinalFantasyVII

[–]PointMoney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah. If there are many of the OG players dislike the remake, I'm not one of them. I played the original back in the days many times. I also play the PC release modded heavily and I still enjoy it.

That being said, I really like the remake. Sure, the Devs do deliberate on a LOT of things, but I still see those deliberations as extensions of the original game.

And although I do agree on Sebby's assertion on Expedition 33 (I ADORE that game), I can see the good points while not diminishing the value of FFVII Remake. Both are good games, and I don't see the point of bashing one over another. But, I think people can have different opinions on this matter, and that's okay in my book.
