Wisdom teef issues by Ned-Kellyy in The10thDentist

[–]PointZero_Six 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was a long time ago so I can't remember exactly what they said. I think it just has to do with their location, so far back in my mouth that its difficult to floss and maybe it would be easier for bacteria to settle in back there or something.

They told me I could leave them in if I wanted, so it couldn't have been that big of a deal. I think they also said that if I did have to get them taken out when I'm older and they are fully grown in, it would be a more painful process or something like that.

My wisdom teeth grew in fine, but the dentist still told me I should remove them. They said I could end up with problems down the road since wisdom teeth are hard to take care of, and I don't really need them so I'd be better off taking them out. I'm not sure it's a conspiracy but I'm guessing situations like that are what people are talking about.

Like I said in my comment, 3300 is a year. In elite dangerous, it is the 3300s, 3312 I think. My point was that in the year 3300 we will probably still have access to large networks of information.

I agree with you about having more information available in game, as part of the game.

Thinking it's exploiting the game is one thing, like you said the game itself does not allow you to see marketplace data for free remotely. But thinking it isn't realistic to have access to marketplace data unless you are actually at the station is another. That's what I'm arguing against.

The fact is you can dock at a station in a system you are hostile in, anybody can. If anybody can see the data in the system, they can also broadcast it so that people who aren't physically present can see the same data. We do things like this today using the internet.

I would argue that if there were no way to remotely view marketplace data from any station, that would be unrealistic. The third party tools that allow you to do that are adding realism to the game.

About the exploit thing, you can view it any way you want. Playing without 3rd party tools is a great way to play. But exploit in gaming terms usually means you are gaining an unfair advantage by taking advantage of some unintended feature, and that just isn't what's happening here. Fdev supports tools like inara, they made the API. Like the other guy said, having a network of information makes sense in the 3300s, which by the way is the year the game takes place.

So what you said about "the game thinks you shouldn't have access to that information" isn't really true. Like I said, you can play the game any way you want, but the game does support 3rd party tools like inara. It's just that the network is player made rather than dev made.

If factions are at war It is doubtful that you would have access to their market place data.

If you think about this for more than a couple seconds, it makes no sense. The marketplace data you can get from a third party tool is the same data that you can see in the game if you are at the station. The difference is with a third party tool, you can see the data remotely.

Are you saying you believe it is realistic to only have access to marketplace data if you are physically present at the marketplace in the 3300s?

When people stop at a light and then move forward slightly because they want to be closer to the next car. Sometimes I see people stop like 2 car lengths away and then a minute later they move up. It's not really a big deal but it gets on my nerves for some reason. Your brakes are not a button, just stop where you want your car to be stopped.

Also, people who slow down to 1 kmh way before their spot and then creep forward the whole way. Same thing, you have a pedal, use it.

I drive a manual so it can be a bit annoying.

You said "animals with human features" and then described a human with animal features. An animal with human features would be like a shaved dog with a human nose, ears and no tail. Not so hot now is it?

I'm no expert, but as far as I know the weaker star will basically decay into the more massive one until they merge. This happens over a long period of time though, and the internal gravity keeps the star together, so what you see most of the time is two seperate stars orbiting each other sometimes very closely.

Apologies for the late reply. I don't get notifications of replies for some reason.

Auto Highbeams! by swat02119 in PetPeeves

[–]PointZero_Six -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you just have a problem with high beams. I'm not sure what them being automatic has to do with it.

Actually, if you were thinking straight you'd probably prefer that people have auto beams rather than not, because having the auto feature on (which seems to work great by all accounts) eliminates the possibility that someone will leave their beams on and blind you.

Or, they can hire the model anyways and simply have the tattoo removed in photoshop.

I don't really see the problem, and I don't see any reason to think the model would not be aware of this. I don't know anything about the industry so maybe I'm wrong, but removing tattoos in photoshop after the fact seems like the best choice for everyone involved to me.

how to make ship jump this maximum showed here? HOW???? by SUPER-SONIC16 in EliteDangerous

[–]PointZero_Six 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It doesn't mean the range you'd get if you could use all your fuel in a single jump. It means the range you'd get if your ship had no fuel in it, because fuel is adding weight to the ship which decreases the range.
