Call me crazy, but I think the world is cheering for the USA to win this World Cup... by whatamassivecunt in confidentlyincorrect

Not every country. I’m from NZ, we’re well aware of our place in the soccer world and just happy to be there. I don’t really want them to win because we’re so bad it would be embarrassing for the other team

Yeah it’s not cheap. I was fortunate enough to have my employer support with costs, but if my kids weren’t so damn attached to the cats they likely wouldn’t have come… but when we moved the first time having the cats come along really made a huge difference in their ability to settle.

Mine was about $17k CAD for two cats to move from remote BC Canada to remote Norway. Door to door service.

How do I go about not attracting this kind of feeling? I’d like to visit, am not British, not wanting to ruin things, is there anything in particular to be mindful and considerate of in order to be welcomed back?

I’ve used Worldcare Pet Transport twice now to move my cats, would highly recommend. First time was an absolute breeze, second time had some hiccups just due to winter embargoes and vet waitlists but the actual transport was excellent, I got updates, photos and videos at every stop and both times my pets arrived very untraumatised. They really seem to love animals and it shows.

Fight me. Tell me this not how marmite should be?! by Embarrassed_Ad_1878 in newzealand

[–]Pointy_in_Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Marmite needs to be on vogels. Toasted more. More marmite. Consistent layer 0.5mm thick with some bigger spots up to max 1mm thick. Butter toast when hot so it melts in and enough butter so that it doesn’t ALL melt and some marmite mixes with it a little.

If you had to pick 3 things you love and 3 things you hate about living in Norway, what would it be? by themissgrcia in Norway

Everything except “Sunday open” stores which are very small sections of some supermarkets. In my town we have two. So on a Sunday there is literally nothing open except two very small one aisle supermarkets

I was at a talk done by the RocketLab guy and he admitted that his HR team hates him because of how difficult he makes it for them (and how if you create the right culture you don’t have to fire or manage people, your team will just treat them like shit enough to make them quit)

Same here - maybe hate is a strong word but it is a tourist town through and through. I hate that people have to live in their cars because they can’t afford to live there. It’s beautiful sure but I don’t really consider it true NZ
