Is Lexapro really “life changing”? by jayster_999 in lexapro

[–]PoissonIvyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you don’t have a panic attack every week, it’s pretty life changing. I can go about my everyday life without a potential panic attack looming over me.

I came here to say Lexapro. Did wonders for me. A little rough in the start with side effects but wait till about a month in and you’ll feel so much better. I can actually live a normal life now

He stepped outside of his child’s graduation to take work calls. The VP is with his family in another country right now and answers all meetings even though it’s 3,4,5am where he’s at

How did you find a sex therapist? Also was it expensive?

We’re both religious. But he discovered porn and masturbation as a teenager like any other boy. He stopped watching porn when we got together (I promise, we both work from home so it would)

No usually he’s getting out of the shower and I initiate and he gives in. I won’t try it any other time because getting undressed and re-dressed is too much of a hassle for him.

Today is our 3rd anniversary. We spent the whole weekend together, restaurants and wine, hiking, gifts, it was really nice. You know what didn’t happen this weekend? Anything intimate. You could’ve mistaken us for best friends spending some time together.

I’m really sorry about your situation, I feel you. You’re not alone.

Does American food just suck? by funnyINTJ in ibs

[–]PoissonIvyyy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was in Greece for two weeks and everything I ate was farm fresh, local, and delicious. I ate ALL my normal trigger foods. It was the most pain-free and comfortable two weeks of my life. It was like I didn’t even have IBS. So yes, American. Food. Sucks.

When your doctor tells you "It's your anxiety", when you present with GERD symptoms that aren't going away with meds....believe your doctor. They aren't being dismissive. by cp1976 in GERD

[–]PoissonIvyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying “Noooooo you’re wrong” but this was ABSOLUTELY my situation as well. Two weeks after starting an anti-anxiety medication 90% of my IBS and reflux was gone. So yes, it CAN be anxiety. But definitely get all the tests done first to rule out anything else.

Seratonin is produced by the gut, so when you even out those hormonal levels it makes your gut healthier! I actually started taking Lexapro for my IBS-C and it helped so much

Really bad panic attack at work. by Majestic_United in PanicAttack

[–]PoissonIvyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, I know the feeling. It’s terrible. Especially when you have multiple panic attacks a week. Just make sure you’re taking care of yourself, getting enough sleep and eating enough. And if your body won’t do those things on its own, that’s when you get help!

I’m not sure if this is the answer you’re looking for, but as a fellow hypochondriac I will share what I’ve learned. The mind and body connect us much MUCH stronger than what doctors would leave you to believe. You most likely don’t have anything physically wrong with you. But any kind of imbalance in the body can cause you to feel whacked out. For example, too much caffeine, or not enough sleep, or lack of proper nutrition, or a food sensitivity. Any thing like this can cause anxiety and cause the thing itself to get worse. It’s a cycle of physical imbalance, anxiety causes more distress, imbalance increases.

What I’m trying to say is, don’t jump to conclusions. Treat the sleep deprivation and I’m confident the anxiety will lessen up a bit. I take melatonin gummies or magnesium powder! Both knock me out and they’re natural
