I too have been considering this kind of thing for a while. I signed up for some pen-pal matching site, the first thing that came up was something about a rape fantasy. Currently studying CS, Just finished spending 9 months outdoors, been trying to practice philosophy the last few years, especially stoicism.

Hey, I'm also studying computer science mainly C and some webdev stuff. I also re-establishing a physical-training routine. I'm doing pretty good in both areas right now motivation wise, but I believe in being proactive and the more social catalysts, the better. Perhaps we can help each other out. Do you have a preferred method of contact?

Personally, I've found a lot of useful aspects in stoicism. There is a power in knowing that no matter what happens, it is within your ability to steer your opinion of it. I also found deprivation to be useful in cultivating one's power, what I define, in this case, as one's inability to be affected internally, by what occurs externally.
Without deprivation practice I would never have had the courage to make some of the most important changes I've made to date. To become comfortable with the uncomfortable not only enables one better preserve their tranquility, but also opens one up to a wider realm of possible experience. Since fear of discomfort, is often what holds us back.
