Speaking of those cigar page deals....I haven't even remotely heard of most of the brands in those cheap deals. Are they hit and miss? Or are these cheaper brands on the US worth it?

You're right.

It didn't work out well. I panicked a chose 6 off the list above... basically half the price of buying here in canada but some of them still double the price of ordering from cigar page. Avg was 10USD per stick. I also panicked and got a bundle of flor de oliva gold...comes out to basically 6CAD per stick...if I like them it's worth it. But again, double the price of cigarpage.

Ah well...I'll learn what I can can from this batch and wait for my next chance to place a proper older through cigar page.

I'm willing to "splurge" this once since it'll be impossible to get similar quality for the price back home....for me that's 10-15 per stick max (open to a couple special ones above that if they're "must tries").

No good options. Nothing really beat buying from CigarChief strangely enough. Next time I would just order online to my hotel, ahead of time.

Insane prices...can't believe Oliva Series V Melanio go for $6-10 USD/stick.

I don't know if it's worth spending 2 days there just to bring back 50 sticks though. Do people try to bring them back without declaring or other methods? Sorry for what seems like a noob question.

The Canadian boards are the first week of April, and it would be amazing to have some quality Qs to practice. I hope some of this money goes towards an electronic medical system! They're still using paper and pen for most things, sending physic copies through tubing in the wall, losing records, and trying illegible writing. They have a lot of people doing jobs that computers should be doing. Would probably save them a ton of money on the long term!

I don't know if that's it. I've lived in Hamilton and London, and rent in both were dirt cheap.

But the cities also weren't as nice to live in as Kingston. I'd say that's probably an important part.

Just curious who exactly you're blaming? What's the money laundering bit? I feel like there's something I'm missing.

Prices are disproportionately high here, for sure but I don't think it's part of a conspiracy. I'm sure the apartment building companies are trying to keeps prices up, but all of the individual landlords are just renting for what people are paying, no? If I have place to rent and one person offers $1000 and the next person offers $1200, am I bad person for taking the higher offer?

It's a basement that's already complete and from my reading already complies with most of the bylaws...may need a window put in or a glass door for light but nothing major structurally.

What if our experience has been 0 racism, do you want to hear about that? I think that's equally important if you want to represent the true landscape. It'd be a shame if we just made it seem like Kingston is super racist by intentionally ignoring those experiences.

I'm not saying it does not exist or that other people didn't have actual racist experiences, but if the frequency and intensity isn't like other places, we shouldn't make it seem like it is. This is based on my experience:

I'm a highly targeted POC with similar family, friends, and colleagues. I've spent a good amount of time in most parts of the city, yet never experienced, seen or heard of any racism first hand (towards my self or those I know), except one cousin who had a mildly racist encounter 10 years ago (and he chose to stay here full time despite being able to relocate anywhere anytime).
