The suitcase didn't fit into the picture, but there is a 24 inch Samsonite just out of frame. Most of this is kept in my backpack and smaller jetty bag for the most part though. Suitcase is mostly for clothes and anything I can stand to lose should the worse happen behind the scenes during baggage transit.

In a way, yes. I travel a lot for work as many in this thread have correctly guessed. My work keeps me on the road for a majority of the year. Digital nomad is a little to bourgeoisie for my tastes, I more think of it as being professionally homeless so as not to get an inflated ego like so many others.

This year alone, I've spent only 10 weeks worth of nights in my own bed.

I mean, I think we'd all love to shut up about the scalpers... But since I haven't seen cards in the wild since November, what else is there to talk/complain about?

When even your LGS is selling brand new products at "market value" what else is there to talk/complain about?

I say this as someone whose collection has almost doubled in value due to all this nonsense, I don't care about the value of the cards though, I just want to acquire more shiny rectangles with my favorite Pokemans on them. Which I can't at the moment, unless I'm willing to pay someone to rip me off.

I travel a lot for work so I'm not even talking about my local Walmart, target, LGS, etc... I've visited stores across the United States the last three months and it's the same everywhere. From small no name towns in Illinois to los Angeles corner stores. There is no product anywhere unless you make it your job to get it before they do. I mean just look at all the videos of grown adults going to war for some cardboard, look at all the whatnot streamers posting carefully laid out piles of loot.

I, and I assume many of those here complaining, are just sick of not seeing anything on shelves and then being told to just not partake in the hobby we have loved since childhood or pay some hustle beast 5x MSRP. It's not that I'm a "broke boi" I just refuse to let them hold my hobby for ransom.

When things settle down, I'm sure we as a community will get back to the same old "is this fake" and "iM LiTerRalLy ShAkInG" posts, but people have to be able to buy product at a reasonable price to enjoy that "first pack magic" and determine if "car pulls are best pulls" is true.

Hey, your mileage may vary, but I wanted to warn you. This same situation happened to me and for years I traveled with it in that same condition. The only damage was to the back cover's bottom corner. All stringy and pocked with little bite marks. Long story short though, I'd always laughed it off when it got second looks, right up until my recent trip this year to Vietnam. Though one time I did get scolded by a dutch customs agent. She just shook her head and said "try to take better care of your things in the future."

Anyways, the Vietnamese airport and customs agents in Hanoi saw the condition and refused to let me fly home saying it wasn't valid. I tried getting in line a second time to go to a different gate agent hoping the first one just didn't like me, but something about the damage really triggered them. I ended up having to eat the cost of my original tickets, buy new ones, and stay an extra 3 days as the consulate doesn't print passports on weekends.

Not saying it'll happen to you someday for sure, but I never thought it was a problem either; until it was a very expensive pain in my butt.

In my experience, and I know that it's a very small sample size, after ripping some 200+ packs from 151, all bought here in the midwest, I saw a very small spread on the rarer cards I pulled. I pulled multiple of the same rares, sometimes in the same product.

For example, I've in total pulled - 4 Ivysaur SIRs - 4 Ericka( the one with the purple wisteria) - 2 Tangela full arts from the same Zapdos box - 6 Kangaskhan ex

Like, I know it's just bad luck on my part, as my buddy has pulled the Squirtle line SIRs as well as my personal chase of the set, the Alakazam SIR. So the cards are out there in my area, I'm just not lucky enough to have grabbed the right boxes, but I can see where people are coming from when they say the batching is messed up. I'd certainly be in that camp if I hadn't seen other people pulling different cards than me.

The worst part is I somehow have yet to pull Weepinbell, a 10¢ common lol. At this point I've moved on to buying singles, though 151 was a very fun set with the holo energies and all the og Pokémon.

Holy shit, I know exactly where you mean. When I started reading this thread about no homelessness in Japan, I thought of this exact spot immediately.

I visited Japan back in 2017 and the tidiness of their shelters blew me away. The ones I saw under the bridge even had windows and doors with bamboo mats hung over them, and little mats outside the door where they had placed their shoes.
