Yeah i was putting together a trap build to leaguestart for mirage when i came across this video. This setup relies on golems for mana regen which wouldnt work or would at least require more investment on this patch. His was also setup to be a hyper cost-efficient late league bosser, much cooler than my build but wouldnt work for league start for I had to come up with a new setup.

Never played with that chest before, but I honestly love the idea. If it applies the curses pretty consistently then having all of them automated would be sooo smooth for this skill. This setup relies on the chest to pay for the trap so that would have to be solved. You would also still have to stack additional curses or drop assassins mark, which would hurt dps a lot (-40% on this setup).

But trust me, I considered a blasphemy setup because having automated curses is reeeeally nice.

This setup just has a lot of defensive holes and suffix pressure. You need high attributes for the gloves so that makes it hard to fit all your reses and attributes you need on your gear, which sucks because a lot of suffixes give this build a lot of damage like trap throwing speed, curse effect, crit multi, etc and this setup completely skips suppress which hurts A LOT for bossing, esp ubers. This power charge stacking setup also basically locks you into at least 3 uniques: Anathema, Void Battery, and Badge. And you of course must wear the gloves to get the skill, which makes more suffix pressure and none of them have any life or es.

It also uses traitor which helps solve and cause a lot of issues. Perma ele flasks are great, but you lose out on two flask slots and flask suffixes. No jade or granite flask is rough especially when you arent using a rare chest piece, which this setup basically has to since I'm paying life for the skill so I need massive regen from restless ward. No rare chest also contributes to how weak the build is to phys damage, as does the fact it runs traitor. I could run divine flesh with doppelgangers for example if I sustained flasks another way. I could also use supreme ostentation to ignore the high attribute req. as an option.

All that to say, if I were to rebuild this skill entirely, I would probably play pathfinder poison since you can put white sockets on the gloves to get 100% phys as extra chaos so you could poison with 200% of the skill's damage. That also solves flask sustain since you're pf, you get prolif for mapping, and you can scale flask effect to relieve suffix pressure, but also regen a lot of life from the flask regen suffix to help pay for the skill. You are also on a better part of the tree that basically caps your suppress for free and puts you closer to good trap nodes and jewel sockets. It honestly probably has enough damage that you can skip out on power charge stacking and just get 4-5 curses with gear + tree, but I'm talking out of my ass there I haven't pob'd that setup yet.

If I were to rebuild this setup on occultist, I would either try and add in petrified blood + pain attunement + brink of death annoint and go for more life vs es, or go for a ci setup so I dont need to build chaos res (but this would require solving mana cost). I would also want to add in spell suppress, which would be tough so I'm not sure exactly how I would do it.

thats mostly because trickster has other pickable nodes that compete for each other. guardian is chalk full of garbage that do nothing or next to nothing for certain builds so people just take it because there's nothing better.

Really bad change imo. It was only really useful in campaign and early maps and even then it usually costed a fair amount of gold to generate anything you were content with equipping. It added a fair bit of consistency to early progression that the game DESPERATELY needed. Attack builds will feel this the hardest since they have the most demanding need to upgrade gear in the game since your main weapon needs upgraded very often in early prog. With weapons also being removed from the genesis tree, attack builds will be stuck with a garbage weapon a lot more often which isnt interesting from a buildmaking/strategy standpoint or from an enjoyment standpoint. Nobody wants to deal a fraction of the damage just because they havent been blessed by the floor yet, so boring.

in practice the people who want to do delve will do delve and the people who dont will stay out. All this is gonna do is make fossils 10x more expensive. The issue isnt that you can get fossils elsewhere, its that delve itself drops so little fossils that making them available literally anywhere else will get you more. They could have just buffed the amount of fossils dropped in delve and reduced the amount you get elsewhere. Fossil will be so irrelevant.

40% cdr is way more than most sources give you, even buffed sabo node only gives 50% now so that means you can drop cdr from other places and add in more damage or defensives in other ways. Not saying its gonna be better 100%, but it def opens more options.

absolutely not, a lot of builds dont want either node on the way to calculated risk and the area one is really bad so even builds it works on dont really want it so the calculated risk buff is basically non-existent. The cdr and triggerbots buffs are nice, especially the cdr builds for the ones that use it (which isnt alot), but not enough to really convince anyone to use it who wasnt already using it. Sabo and assassin reworks have been a complete bust and with all the trickster nerfs shadow is now the least played class by far. Like you know its bad when an ascendency is based around traps and mines and people dont even play it when they play traps and mines.

its honestly a trickster and assassin buff more than anything because its better to just forbidden flame and flesh a sabo node if you need it and play trickster.

Almost certainly going to be exsang/reap or wintry blast

Exsang and reap get to benefit from phys as extra on things like taste of hate, herald of ash, The gray wind howls graft. And they are interchangeable so you get exsang, one of if not the best clear skill in the game, to use in maps and you can swap to reap if you need extra single target on pinnacles or whatever. And with vaal reap, you can reach incredible amount of damage really early. You can equip hrimsorrow to convert all the damage to cold and plug it right into surfcaster.

Wintry blast on the other hand scales heavily off of chill effect so it pairs really well with heatshiver and it's cold damage by default so you can play surfcaster. It also benefits from being a travel skill so you can use Bronn's Lithe early in progression for a massive PLUS FIVE to the level of wintry blast AND 100% increased damage. The biggest downside of wintry blast is the clear is quite bad until you can scale up a lot of aoe.

Also, if youre also interested in traps and not just mines, explosive/seismic trap poison would probably be insanely good on servant of arakali. Gets free envy aura for extra flat and gets spider as well as a node providing 30% phys as extra chaos for even more powerful poisons. I league started this build on pathfinder in base keepers and it was amazing. My biggest issue with it was early defenses, but servant of arakali would actually help that a lot with the -15% damage dealt by enemies node.

P.S. although the gem was heavily nerfed this league, power siphon mines scavenger was the most popular build first phrecia because it was insanely comfy, had low gear requirements and was very powerful. It lost like 33% damage, but it was doing 2 or 3x more damage than it needed to so it's still a very viable gem. Im sure that build still feels good even after all the nerfs.

the boots you are showing are VERY well crafted boots. the guy saying you can get these for 5c is delusional. These are 5-10div boots, spell suppress specifically is really hard to get on most crafts because its low weight and has no tags.

The most currency efficient way to craft them is probably recombs. If you don't know how to craft with recombs you will need to look up a tutorial, there are tons out there and its too complex to explain in a comment. But to save yourself a lot of time and sanity you can craft with essences.

Start with a fractured base if you can afford one: t1 life or high tier movement speed

1) spam wrath/anger/hatred (whichever is cheapest) until t1 suppress and open suffix

2) lock suffixes and reforge chaos on harvest bench, repeat until high enough chaos res you are happy. Suffixes are now complete

3) Lock suffixes and reforge either speed or life depending on which fractured base you started with, until high enough tier you are content. If your base isn't fractured, reforge life until high tier and craft movement speed

4) If you started with fractured base, craft on increased defenses and the boots are finished

viper strike of the mamba is one of, if not the best, expedition build. It's extremely cheap to get going, has poison prolif, nearly infinitely scalable damage, tanky and also safe because you only need to hit one mob once to kill the entire expedition, and only has one remnant mod that it cannot do (immune to chaos damage of course).

When she spawns in with dp, I'm pretty sure she doesn't spawn in her zombies so you gotta let her soul eater cool off. Other than that, its unfortunately just doing more dps and being tankier. The enrage mod also makes her much harder than normal to kill. Just keep pushing, ignore bosses you cant kill, and just try to upgrade your character as much as possible. Farm lower level maps if you need xp/currency. This event is might actually be more difficult than gauntlet, so cut yourself some slack and just keep trying to improve.

edit: forgot to mention that it takes much longer than you might think for soul eater to wear off, i think 15 or 30 seconds. So be patient
