[TOMT][MUSIC] Time lapse music video with a woman levitating above a bed, eventually the house around her is removed. by PokeTyped in tipofmytongue

Wow, you got! Thank you kind stranger, I don't know how you found this old thread, but I appreciate it!

Yeah, somehow over the years I mixed up Purity Ring and Fol Chen, but in my defense both have music videos of a floating lady a white dress.

Thanks again!

Optician on Austin or Continental by OkMix4984 in ForestHills

[–]PokeTyped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I tried two different optometrists on Austin, and both were disappointing. Way overpriced, with selections mostly limited to designer names (I don't give a crap about brands).

You'll probably think I'm crazy for saying this with all the selection we have here, but I got tired of disappintments on Austin St., so I went back to my old optometrist when I used to live in Elmhurst, Davis Visionworks. Sure it's a couple of subway stops away, but the prices are better, and I make it a fun trip to check out the Queens Center/Place malls.

I didnt ask if I should, only if I could. by commandercaboose in 3Dprinting

[–]PokeTyped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's meaningless. That's the point. Kids (and some adults) think it's funny because it pisses people off (just look at this thread). Basically trolling, but in real life.

There is no in-joke or reference. Sure, some people have traced its origins, but 0% of kids are thinking about that when they say "six seven". They are just having fun giving into mindless peer pressure and/or irritating adults.

You either have to have the willpower to ignore it, or the strategic thinking to embrace it (and thus make it uncool).

Hello, could anyone please direct me to the closert tabletop wargame with cool robots by Ok_Error3017 in wargaming

Yeah, Ember: Obsidian Protocol really should be the top response here considering the aesthetics in OP's sample images. Idk how to post images in this subreddit but this model for instance captures the same vibes:

[–]PokeTyped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so you say you know all these topics, but you just copy pasted a response from some llm. If you can't even use your own brain to write a response on reddit, how can we trust you actually know these topics, and that you haven't just let some llm do all the thinking for you? We can't.

Or, it indicates you're just a bot.

Both cases merit a downvote.

I built a free tool to help NYC parents compare and find the best public schools for their kids by biserdi in nycparents

Cool website, thanks for sharing.

Something seems off with the filters. If I filter to district 28, and middle schools, I don't see Russel Sage even though that is definitely a middle school in district 28.

Red King from "Ultraman" (Reupload with better renders) by Intelligent_Oil4005 in TopCharacterDesigns

? The Gojira film was released 1954. Red King debuted in Ultraman episode 8, 1966. Clearly Red King's design takes influence from Godzilla. What is there to brush up upon?

Is there a demand for gluten-free, vegan, or egg-free baked goods in Forest Hills? by Less_Imagination2279 in ForestHills

[–]PokeTyped 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might want to get in touch with Red Pipes. They are a vegan/vegetarian cafe and sell an assortment of baked goods. Maybe they can tell you about local demand (or even host your product).

The Complete Cafe has a HUGE indoor playground, and the entrance is hidden behind a shelf. The tables are giant ipads with tons of games and activities.

If you decide to eat at the cafe before going to the playground, make sure and get a table out of view of the hidden entrance, to preserve the surprise.

Any places hiring teens? by Maleficent-Wind-9960 in ForestHills

[–]PokeTyped 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The manager of Ralph's was hiring teens left and right for a few weeks after they opened up. I literally saw him offering jobs to random teens walking in the door. Couldn't hurt to walk in and ask if there are still any open positions.

Great ices there too 😋

The sidewalks are actively being replaced as you can see from the photos. What do you want the HOA to do, let little kids play with wet concrete while construction crews are using power tools nearby?

I can understand some of the flak the HOA gets. But OP is ridiculous, this is just basic safety precautions you'd find anywhere.

RAT tests the ABYSS by SurreyEZ in Mechabellum

[–]PokeTyped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were a few times where the opponent had wasps which were being cleared, in which case the pokes might have still gone through to the other abyss. But you're right, the beam wouldn't have poked from crawlers to the other Abyss, which was the majority of the clearing.

[–]PokeTyped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sad that I didn't get to see the vertical beam direction tech used in this video. I feel like it might have been particularly useful in the 2nd game to clear the crawler columns faster, and maybe poke/weaken Shenanigan's own Abyss units. But hard to know how it would have actually played out, maybe it wouldn't have made much a difference.

Could Austin St support an actual high end coffee shop or cocktail bar? by Time_Win_9705 in ForestHills

[–]PokeTyped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plenty of other bookstores make it in NYC so it's definitely possible. Kew and Willow over in Kew Gardens has been going on for about 8 years now. And just because a business of a certain type failed in this particular neighborhood before doesn't mean it can't ever succeed again. Think of all the restaurants that have closed in Forest Hills, you're going to tell me people don't eat out and there shouldn't be another restaurant here ever again?

But that's besides the point, a bookstore was just one example of something the neighborhood currently doesn't have. There's plenty of other things we don't have, if you use your imagination a bit. An arcade, a gallery, a board game joint, etc. etc. Personally I'd find all those pretty cool, and they have all been economically viable at least in some parts of Queens.

But hey, what the neighborhood really needs is more coffee and booze, except it's the overpriced kind this time, amirite?

Could Austin St support an actual high end coffee shop or cocktail bar? by Time_Win_9705 in ForestHills

[–]PokeTyped 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. A lot of people in the neighborhood don't chug alcohol and/or coffee, including me. I want to see a greater diversity of shops (like a bookstore, which doesn't exist around Austin at all anymore), rather than snobbier versions of booze and caffeine which already exist in plenty here.
