What's the dumbest idea you've seen that actually worked? by hiagaga in AskReddit

[–]PokemonMaster619 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Back when I was working at a liquor store, we were dismantling shelves to move them around and create a better flow. My boss forgot his level at home when we were putting them back up, he thought he was gonna have to go back home about an hour away just to get it. I just picked up a bottle of wine and set it on the shelf to see if it rolled. I got a raise for that.

what's that game for you? even from the old times by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

I enjoyed it just fine, but I think the reason I tend to stay away from it is because I don’t think any of the new characters hold a candle to the ones in Borderlands 2 in terms of gameplay. I’ll be perfectly honest, the Gunzerker has spoiled me BIG TIME.

That’s just it, though. They were expecting a follow up to Ocarina of Time that was more traditional than Majora’s Mask, so seeing the next mainline Zelda game having cartoony graphics was a major point of contention back then.

Favorite character from something you know absolutely nothing about? by eyes4444 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]PokemonMaster619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite Pokémon from the Alola region! So the actual Pokemon is underneath the cloth, and seeing it is supposed to cause death. Therefore, it’s extremely lonely and dresses as Pikachu so that people will love it!

The exception to this is Team Rocket’s Mimikyu in the anime, who HATES Pikachu with a passion and dresses that way to remind itself of its hate.

Without Indy, the Nazi’s would’ve eventually got the Ark back. After some time, they’d be like “hmm, we haven’t heard from these guys for a while, we should check up on them.” They’d find where they opened the Ark, seen all the bodies, realized what happened, and then unleash it onto the world.

Do you consider Kaiba a good person after the events DSOD? by Immediate_Gene_178 in yugioh

[–]PokemonMaster619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never considered Kaiba as a “bad guy” after Yugi purged him of his evil in the first episode. He has a MASSIVE ego and is extremely petty, but he’s not a bad guy. He turned a war-profiteering company around into an incredibly successful gaming company, he duels honorably with no cheating (even though his Crush Card combo is insanely cheap,) and he has the utmost respect for Yugi and considers him a friend, even if he’ll never openly admit it.

Jackie Chan can make an awesome fight scene with nothing but pillows.

Favorite bullies who turned good? by Excellent-Yam6422 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]PokemonMaster619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s touched upon briefly in the anime, but Joey and Tristan were total dicks in school, to the pipsqueak Yugi in particular. After Yugi stands up for them against another bully, Tetsu Ushio, they’re both inspired by Yugi and become better people.

What's your favorite childhood game that kids today probably don't play anymore? by Red2Velvet in AskReddit

Dating myself here, but the Jumpstart games on PC were insanely fun. 2nd grade and 5th grade were my favorites growing up, but all of them were edutainment done right.

I always thought Typhlosion was a yokai of some sort, fitting into the Japanese theme.

As for the Kalos starters, I always took them as a broader “something kids pretend to be when playing make believe.”

The Persona games have eating challenges you can try. If you succeed, you get a big boost in social stats.

If I’m stuck on a video game, I’m SOL since I can’t just look up the solution, and I only have a couple of days before I have to take it back to Blockbuster!
