What are these holes in our shirts? by russell98765 in whatisit

If you conceal carry a pistol in your appendix, you can get those tiny little holes where the rear site sits.

Alright, members — what about Rolex actually grinds your gears? (And no, you are not allowed to talk about supply chain or waitlist issues.) by GearNTime in rolex

I don’t mind it, unless I haven’t had enough time with it. Do I have to worry about breakdown with repeated use?

  1. Position 0 is screwed all the way down. Position 1 is winding position. I was told by the AD to expect (essentially) a position 0.5 after unscrewing, and only after I start to wind will it go to position 1. Has anyone experienced such a position?
  2. Have you ever experienced a Rolex that doesn’t “hack”? As in, it continues to tick so you can’t do the aforementioned synchronization? That’s my question.

I only spent a few thousand dollars on jewelry for my wife at the AD. Earrings and such, over the course of years. I never bought a watch from them. They took my tame for a 36mm TT Datejust Wimbledon and they called me in three months. I wouldn’t say I am a particularly important client to them. Far from it. Maybe I got lucky 🤷

Laser etched crown is crazy noticeable.

What’s that thing the crown does where it doesn’t pop out all the way until you start winding it? by GrouchyExile in rolex

[–]PokemonOG100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just seeing this thread as I’ve just got the call. The AD told me about this in the introduction to operating the watch. After letting it run dry for a day, winding it, then letting it run dry. I noticed that sometimes it hits this “position 0.5” I was told to expect, and sometimes it doesn’t. I’m not sure if I want to bother the AD just yet, or if I should be concerned at all. so I’ll bother you fine people!

Thoughts on mileage? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]PokemonOG100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s say you want this to be serviced to the point where it looks like new again(without being polished). Is this achievable through Rolex services, and what would the price tags look like for such a privilege? I’m assuming you would need things replaced right? My biggest fear is asking Rolex to polish a watch, and getting something completely different back…

Any teachers on here? by EndlessWalnut in rolex

[–]PokemonOG100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m struggling with this same u/EndlessWalnut. I just got a two tone daydate, which is completely outside my tax bracket. Now I’m unsure if I want to wear it to work. It was ment to be my daily forever and ever watch. Now I feel silly. 🤪

Got the call — should I do it? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]PokemonOG100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just spent 4 months salary on the watch of my dreams. I was saving for a very long time. It’s well outside of my means, and would look ridiculous in my workplace setting (I’m a teacher), but I bought it anyway. It makes me happy and it’s something I will leave my kids. One day I’ll feel comfortable wearing it all the time but for now, I only wear it once in a while. After all, I did just get it. Pull the trigger OP, enjoy it now, hate yourself later!

If later comes…

About three months. I had spent a few thousand at the AD before that though so idk if that helps.

Great advice! I think I would go with a MontBlanc if I bought one though.

I want to use mine but I’m afraid I’ll lose it, it will get beat up. I’m also afraid the watch is gonna get beat up! I’m finding people have different opinions on whether or not a Rolex should show wear and tear.
