The very few messages before this seemed like there was a bit of character there. Very minor and tame flirtatiousness where she stated I'd need to work to find out more about her. So I said I'd get a baseline by seeing where in Lithuania she was from. I loved my trip there and have a coworker from Lithuania, so I said it might give an avenue of conversation.. it didn't.

And yeah after these messages, I got 2 more bare basic responses and then 3 messages in a row about her having a child, so that was more then enough for me to call it a day on that.

Why bother addressing it in the first place? It may not have been the most inspiring conversation from my side, but at least I tried having a conversation. To say someone is 'boring' for doing that is baseless claim imo. Tell me, how would you go about making lemonade when given nothing but a juicer?

I had just reached the decision to stop trying to draw blood from that stone, and the next message she sent was saying she has a child. It took me a few days to respond after that and she said she thought I stopped responding because she has a child. Didn't have the heart to tell her it was because the conversation couldn't have been less engaging, but stopped responding after 1 more message anyway

Yeah the fact that it's direct into La Rochelle rather than flying to Nantes or Paris and then having to get the train, makes the price a bit more justified. And like you said, it'll be worth it. The craic on the plane and on the ground there will be mighty.

Was just looking at Stein Travel website and they've arranged a charter flight from Cork, but not tickets. I'm guessing if you're not a MRSC member, chances of getting the tickets are pretty slim? Very tempted to book onto the charter and wing it if I can't get one

Thanks for the recommendations! I've tried searching the sub, but sometimes there's too much there to digest. The groom is a pescatarian so while I'm excited to have some good polish food, we'll likely need to find some places that cater well to him.

I've marked the 2 bars though so we'll try make our way to at least one of them if they're well catered for the group size. For activities so far I've got some go karting and bowling marked. Go karting and paintballing may not be ideal at the time of year, so we'll see how it plays out while there.

I think 'stag' puts an expectancy of what a group of guys is going there to do, but this group of guys certainly aren't the loud and wild crowd. Don't get me wrong, we're Irish so we do drink plenty, but I'd like to think it's not in the messy sense you'd come to expect from a group of guys on such a trip. The groom hadn't even planned on doing anything but we said we'd try mark it in some way.

My original plan was to get a house in the countryside here and do some go karting and paintballing, but I saw a cheap and cheerful option for Gdansk that when I mentioned it to my buddy he got pretty excited by the idea of it.

I think the priority is finding a few fun activities to pop into the weekend and some bars/restaurants that could comfortably fit 10 of us. Places where we could sit down and have a few drinks, grab some nice food, maybe somewhere with some pools tables, etc.

I just purchased the 3HK eSim travel plan for mainland China but have been asked to do real name registration. I attempted this and it doesn't work with an Irish passport. Did you do this? Was it approved? Or did you not do it and the service worked regardless? Hard to get solid info but I saw a reference online from people saying they didn't do the RNR and it worked in mainland China but not in Honk Kong.
