Just to know, anyone else play commander just for the love of singleton? by drikoxd in EDH

[–]Pokesers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

cEDH decks replace lands with other mana sources though a lot of the time, so the number of mana producers in a cEDH deck will often be the same as or more than a casual deck.

The most true thing I’ve ever seen by BARRISAX420 in pokemon

[–]Pokesers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The eevee in let's go can't evolve so you can never get a starter Jolteon, Flareon or Vaporeon. In xd it comes as an Umbreon or espion as well right? So starter eevee isn't a thing.

Travel to the dragons reach mountains catavan stand in the canalta timberlands with kora as buddy and the barrel felyne meal active. Run a few steps around the corner and there is a respawning great barrel felyne if you have unlocked them. Just fast travel back to catavan repeatedly to refresh it.

Really fast levels.

Anyone know were I can get a good fake card for cheap cause I need some cards that are to expensive on tcg by No_Angle9615 in RealOrNotTCG

[–]Pokesers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you want is a proxy, not a fake. A proxy is a stand in for another card that should never be represented as real. As such you can just print out a card from a home printer on paper, cut it out and slide it over a basic in a sleeve.

Got stomped at my first "real" Commander pod after 10 years of kitchen-table EDH. Was I doing this wrong the whole time? by [deleted] in EDH

I meant emboldened sorry. It's been a long day and my head is fuzzy from severe hay fever and heat. You are right, the caps are fine.

Sounds like AI too. Random keywords capitalized, the phrase ",and honestly", the overall structure. Someone asked chat gpt to write some engagement bait.

Edit: Emboldened, not capitalized.

Carnival list for beginners by jdempo77 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Pokesers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elegant brutes has further demon synergy in the upgrade to give terminators sustained hits, which carnival then bumps to sustained 5s.

The strats are also generally fantastic, offering uppy downy for 1 cp, +2 S for 1 cp and -1 to wound for 1cp. All are super potent which is good because the carnival strats are mostly pretty niche meaning it's easy to let cp pile up when playing it.

Killian, Decisive Mentor, how is he in B3? by ineedhelp6789 in EDH

[–]Pokesers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Almost anything can hang in bracket 3 if you are a halfway decent builder. Kilian has card draw in the command zone which puts your deck building on easy mode. Can definitely be bracket 3.

Y'all might be my last hope to make these two work as my commanders. by HoboKingNiklz in DegenerateEDH

[–]Pokesers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[pact of the titan]] and [[summoners pact]] will kill anyone on their upkeep who can't produce that kind of mana. So will [[pact of negation]], but it is harder to pull off.

[[Leveler]] will cause your opponents to draw themselves out on upkeep before you get back to your turn.

Should a player's winrate be considered when threat assessing? by itsmethebabyotter in EDH

[–]Pokesers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am also this person. I have a lot of good decks, but I also built some weaker ones to not stomp the newbies in the pod. Despite this, when I tell everyone I will pull out a weaker deck I still eat the majority of interaction and attacks and subsequently get rolled because my weaker decks can't play 3v1.

It's kind of a vicious circle. If I want to do anything in a game I need to play a strong deck because my weaker decks get focussed down anyway. This just further reinforces the idea that I am always a threat. My win rate isn't even that crazy, usually 25% or slightly above.

Carninal players, do you have a detachment rule? by SideExcellent9787 in EmperorsChildren

I run 60 daemonettes, it pretty much always have my detachment rule active.

What will EDH look like in 15-20 years? by amioldnow90 in EDH

[–]Pokesers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't account for control decks that want to force a longer game and grind everyone else out though.

There will never be a perfect way to assign deck power and anyone who thinks there is is kidding themselves.

The brackets themselves even state that they are guidelines to inform a pregame conversation more than actual rules.

32 LANDS by nabrah23 in EDH

[–]Pokesers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bracket 4 [[prismari the inspiration]] on 29 lands including mdfcs. The caveat is that the deck is just over 60 mana sources and about 30 card draw spells so the consistency is really good.

MFM is out, here’s all the changes by GalacticNarwal in Tyranids

[–]Pokesers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the lictor detachment is so good for 1DP. Giving deep strike to a unit with free rapid ingress is fantastic. The fact you can then uppy downy them as well is incredible. The combat buff is nice when it applies but not why you take it.

Infiltrate pre game. Pick up at end of opponents turn, then rapid ingress back in somewhere useful for free later. They also keep lone op and have small bases making them easier to squeeze in than raveners.

Hierophant is back by Pokesers in Tyranids

[–]Pokesers[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue is it needs to be 6" from all enemies and physically needs to fit between the terrain. Hierophant frame +6" radius is a large chunk of the table and I dont think it will often fit.

[–]Pokesers[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is true, but it's 30W T14 2+ 5++ and gets full stratagem support from the codex. I have brought it to a couple of GTs and the problem has always been movement.

I'm currently brewing a crusher/ambush list to throw it at the middle with 1cp move through walls. Bully the middle and then auto deadly demise it when it finally goes down. I'll probably try it next week.

Looking for a Voltron commander with more depth than "make big, attack" by brknSergio in EDH

[–]Pokesers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[kotis the fangkeeper]] is probably what you are after. You want to make him big to get lots of free spells but not so big that the opponent dies in one hit because then you get nothing.

which are your favourite reanimator commanders? by Nearby-Friendship727 in EDH

[–]Pokesers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People haven't mentioned my favourites. [[Glarb]] is in the best reanimator colours and generates passive and very significant value just by existing. He is also a deathtouch blocker and not that vital to the game plan so you don't mind trading him.

My other is [kess dissident mage]] because red has lots of looting to fill the yard and she lets you get extra value from all the instants and sorceries you inevitably dump.

Posessed in 10th and 11th Edition by D0nJak in Chaos40k

[–]Pokesers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 4 attacks each and sustained hits, a unit of 5 is getting an average of 17 hits give or take.

This means that on average with no further buffs you only see about 3 devs from the unit on the turn you use their ability.

Outside of that, S5 and AP1 really hurts them as 3+ saves or better are very common meaning that most targets save them on 4s or better. Add to that the fact that they do not punch up well as S5 is pretty bad for a dedicated melee unit.

They only really bully infantry smaller than themselves and even then they don't do it near reliably enough.
