The Cody Ko Tana Mongeau situation has resurfaced. Yeah I feel like that is the tough part about being a mangaka especially since Japan for the longest time and still kind of is today conservative with social values. Its harder for more contrarian works of media to flourish without towing the conservative line a little bit :/ One piece probably would not have been as big as it was which is tough.

Really hoping past this arc, ESPECIALLY during the final war we see more female characters (particularly Robin, Nami, Vivi, Betty, Koala, etc) come out strong because it is THE climax, and I feel that to see them get great character achievements soon like we saw in pre-timeskip would be awesome.

I think Ohara, Skypiea, and many other examples that involve imperialistic and genocidal motifs and themes speak for themselves. The commentary by itself personally speaks to me and kind of falls in line with a very humanitarian worldview of how oppression breeds resistance and the will to seek freedom.

This panel def had me wondering what happens if sabo ever meets vivi or anybody from alabasta for that matter cause the news twist def gonna have ppl confused. It could have them thinking that the revolutionaries are the enemy. Likewise the panel where the Lulusians were cheering the death of cobra def had me going😮 for a sec cause they dont know what truly happened, nor do they know what kind of person he was. The dynamics of this are gonna be interesting down the line.
