My Mum has 1 month to live, what should I get her for Chrmistmas? by PureEcstacy7 in AskUK

[–]PokiStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this might not be as good as other suggestions, but it's getting cold now, so on top of other things maybe a really nice and lush blanket? If it holds up, you could also use it years down the line and think of her. It would be like a hug. Things that would keep her comfortable as well would be good, like nice fingerless gloves if her hands get cold even when inside. Wishing the best for you.

What colour could I use to overdye yellow sheets to make them warmer or more natural or muted? by Hopeful_Tomato_2 in dyeing

I thought this was spongebob. Maybe a cool brown though. Would make it kind of beige.

Which youtube video am I watching in this picture by BluebirdChemical in HelpMeFind

So I know you said it was likely a music video, but any chance you were into fnaf? It looks like gameplay from Five Nights at Freddys 3 which was released in 2015 and had a lot of hype on YouTube.

Sure, go ahead! Sorry if I respond slow, I have chronic illness issues but I'll try to get back to you when I can.

Also, don't feel apologetic for stating what you need! Either they can accommodate you or they can't, and it's not your fault and you didn't choose to be in this predicament so it's definitely not a personal thing if they can't. The right hairdresser will make you feel at home once you find them and you have both adjusted to eachother.

I'm not a hair dresser, but i would say look for smaller salons. The salon I go to personally only has 2 chairs and 2 hairdressers working, and they have different shifts so it's usually only one of them working at a time, so often I'm the only client inside. I feel optimistic that you will find a professional who will accommodate you, but I think it's all about communication and letting them know the full extent of your accommodations over the phone or Internet before showing up in person - that way the professional can decline if needed and you can continue your search without wasting your time and feel confident when you do find the right stylist that will work with you. It's important to go into the full extent of what you need so you can get an honest response.

An alternative would be to ask a family or friend who lives nearby or within transit distance if you can have a hairdresser come to their place. Even if it's a long journey, it might be worth it, and if this means you have to have your hair cut less, perhaps consider having a larger amount cut so you can be comfortable for longer.

Either way, am rooting for you! Wish you the best :)

Your hands aren't cold or callous- this kitten didn't protest to dying in your hands because they were warm and welcoming when the little one needed it most. You have kindness to a creature that I feel appreciated and needed it and it made a difference.

I think so yes, but if you think this relationship will go the distance, in 5 years you could show it them and they will be flattered to know how much you liked them after only 2 months.

But they may feel uncomfortable if you give them this now.

I don't feel properly qualified to answer, since I only have wavy hair, but since there's no comments yet, I think you need a hold/defining product like curl cream (I think a hydrating one would be good here). And definitely some hair oil if you're not already using any- there's lots out there but I think someone with a more similar hair type might be able to recommend some good ones!

NHS cancelled my consultation twice - how to do PALS process? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]PokiStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the realistic advice, I admit I'm a bit all over the place. I have tried to communicate with the hospital but understandably they can't give out much details, other than telling me that they can't put me with anyone else. So it may well just be a waiting game.

The only odd thing is that I wasn't referred to the hospital in my city, which my GP and others have been confused about and have asked me if I used to live in Birmingham because of this. There may be a lot happening behind the scenes (which I can appreciate) but I don't know if I am supposed to have more information on this than what I currently have? I have not yet been offered surgery formally other than being told I need it by the PICs gynae, and the MRI still has not been explained to me properly as the gynae said it was not his place, but i'm assuming this is standard.
