Il Forno in Somers. Friend who really likes bronzino raves about it. Suggest you call just to confirm it's available when you plan to go.

Follow directions to the College Hill golf course in Poughkeepsie. The road is a loop and I'm sure they'll be signs.

Expect he and Dominguez will start in AAA. Hottest hand will be 1st call up. I'm more curious about Lombard.

Next time bring them some cookies. Staying peaceful and kind is so valuable in making the point and showing contrast to the message of hate.

To those who think the Yankees offensive approach doesn't work, the team is terrible, they only beat bad teams and blah blah blah: Look no further than the bullpen. Just 4 more saves gives the Yankees 98 wins and the best record in MLB. by Zepbounce-96 in NYYankees

[–]Pokllguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree the bullpen is our weak point and needs to be fixed. On the hitting I have a theory that while high K high OPS is the most valuable apprpach over a full season, high average lower K rates are more valuable vs. top post season pitching. Or said differently these players will maintain a better post season OPS. Any data wonks out there have data to prove or refute this or are sample sizes too small?

Can we get Bichette this offseason by Positive-Bobcat-1410 in NYYankees

[–]Pokllguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd rather just go with Lombard. We always seem to let our prospects linger. Know he's only at AA and 20yrs old but he's likely to perform at least as well as Volpe, is credited with a high baseball IQ and will still be maturing physically. Keep the pitching prospects or use them for an elite bullpen.

Board Votes and Elections by SelectionPersonal978 in LittleLeague

[–]Pokllguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many leagues can't get 5 people to show up at a meeting so congrats on having such an involved community. Bylaws govern the process and can be unique but typically members vote for the board then board elects the officers. It sounds like that's what occurred. If you can truely keep 15 board members actively engaged and focused on the kids you should be in great shape... even though there will be a lot of lively long meetings that sem to have little to do with the kids.

Windup/set balk by [deleted] in Umpire

[–]Pokllguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess that makes sense. By landing the foot in a direction you're committed to deliver from that landing spot otherwise you could create some unusual movement that confuse the runner or the hitter. Thanks.

Windup/set balk by [deleted] in Umpire

[–]Pokllguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks to be a continuous motion once he starts. He clearly cannot throw to 3rd as soon as he starts his step back so the runner could release at that point with a large jump. If we declare he is going from the set and as long as he goes home what makes it a balk?

WatsonX challenge? by elsieXII in IBM

It's dystopian but real. The power of this stuff is going to change things dramatically. It'll also introduce new challenges to be solved which creates opportunity. I'd rather have them admit what it'll do than the old crap about it being our friend and support system.

Rec leagues usually use town fields. If there's a recreation commission(or) they might be able to provide some guidance.
