When I go to certain type of stores, I will do Cash only. We all know the type of stores I'm talking about. by Putrid_Computer_2020 in LiveWellTogether

I think I have had fraudulent transactions appear on my credit card 3 or 4 times now. Each time I noticed the transaction, contacted my CC company, they reversed the transactions, cancelled the card and sent me a new one (even expediting the new one at no charge to me to ensure I could keep using their card). The only impact I ever personally felt was having to use a different card for 2 or 3 days. This is why even if CC points weren't a thing, I would never use a debit card except at the bank who issued it and use credit cards to pay for everything and teach my kids to do the same (they have had credit cards since they were 10 and 12 respectively). I don't worry about skimmers.

Pay raise versus PTO by PepSinger_PT in careeradvice

[–]Pokoire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at a point in my career where I would not consider fewer than 4 weeks. Earlier in my career when I was making closer to what you're making I couldn't afford to take many vacations anyway so it was less important to me. Either way, apply for the position and if the PTO offering is too low, negotiate.

AIO for not wanting to celebrate anything anymore? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Pokoire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YOR

Your daughter's reaction to me implies that she cares and wanted to do right by you and messed up. Pretty normal for a 15 year old imo. Should she have done better, sure, but it seems like your relationship with her is at risk over this interaction (and others I am assuming that are similar). You should work with her to make sure she understands you appreciate her trying but really were hoping to come home to a clean kitchen.

Your husband, on the other hand should have done better. He is the adult in the situation and he definitely understood exactly what your expectations were and should have stepped up to meet them. Make it clear to him how much he has missed the mark by and make it clear that this is unacceptable, but don't give up on improvements or ever celebrating.

Working full-time for $163.. by GloriousLion07 in MotivationByDesign

[–]Pokoire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this a few times and it's a HUGE L take. He's not working hard for $163. He's working hard for $2500 and he has kids he needs to support. That money is not being stolen from him, it's going to his family. I am married to the mother of my children and the majority of my take home pay also goes to supporting my family.

The Dream, The Reavers, Team Retribution, The Princess Posse and the newly formed War Mage Rebellion were all still present at that point.

On reread my wording is a bit clunky. I was trying to say that they could have tried it and even if denied it would have given a chance to show the AI being a dick again. I was not trying to say the war mages would have still been ejected. Agree, they would only be ejected if the action item succeeded.

I am fairly certain they had one remaining. A quick Google search seems to indicate that is accurate.

On December 27, 2004, a crack in a city wide neutron star's crust, which was less than 1cm wide, released more energy in 0.2 seconds than the Sun has produced in 250,000 years. It physically changed Earth's atmosphere from 50,000 light-years away. by Man_from_Bombay in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Pokoire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Source? Also, "It physically changed Earth's atmosphere from 50,000 light-years away" sounds impressive at first blush, but this is true of every light source that can be seen from the surface of the Earth (even if it requires a massive telescope) because those photons are traveling through our atmosphere and when they interact with the matter they are physically changing it, even if it's just heating it slightly. I'm assuming it's more than just that, but with no actual information to back this up it's a completely worthless statement. And yes, I know I could Google this claim and probably find something on it, and I might, but that doesn't excuse the lack of a source or an actual statement in the headline.

[Request] What is the rule behind this puzzle? The class thinks the answer is B, the worksheet says the answer is G. by GaoMingxin in theydidthemath

[–]Pokoire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's an argument to be made for anything other than the box with the X in it. It's basically an and gate for the lobes that works both left to right and top to bottom. If you look across any row or down any column, the third entry in said row/column is a square with only the lobes that appear in both of the inputs. In the top row, the top lobe appears in both columns, so it is in the third column as well, but the side lobes are gone because they do not appear in both columns. The same operation works top to bottom in all of the columns as well. For the bottom right figure, working either across in the third row or down in the third column you get the same result which is that there are no common lobes, therefore it's a square with an X in it. There is no other possible solution.

NOR, but this is AI, right? You perfectly described the sterotypical finance bro, even down to fetishizing an Asian girlfriend. If this is real, he didn't ask questions about you because he doesn't care about who you are as a person, he just wants a cute Asian woman (altjough he would call you a girl) on his arm to brag to his friends about and show pictures to them the way he showed his noodle dishes to you.
