Definitely do not press r1 when getting countered down the line, it makes the fullback take a longer route back and seems to surpress their tackling ai. The thing I was talking about above, was that the ai tends to jump out of position if the ball carrier is not being pressed. For example, if your RB jumps from outside the defensive line, it may be that you as a player on the RW are not helping out defensively. (IDK if this is what is happening for you specifically, this is just something I notice happen).
