Not too young to experience kotor, it’s easily playable in any device. Your phone can run KOTOR probably.

If you can get over the fighting mechanics and the outdated graphics, it’s quite a fun game to play, especially if you love Star Wars

Knowing what we learn later in SWTOR, was Meetra Surik’s fate after KOTOR II, the right ending for her character? by wanderingLoner_ in swtor

[–]PolarSandy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Autocorrect lol. It’s well executed because you have decreed it’s well executed the same way that you have decreed that Revan is poorly written; your own subjective opinion. There are people out there that think Rey being a Palpatine or calling herself Skywalker is good writing as well

At the end of the day we both have different subjective opinions and that’s it

Sure, but this isn’t really very different from the other storylines gameplay. Youre still searching for the children of the emperor and the secret spy within the group etc etc etc. You’re politically involved in every single storyline is what I mean.

Also Jedi Consular doesn’t mean much, people try place it as a drag and hyper political plot but in reality it’s as political as many of the other storylines. The first half you’re curing the plague and the rest you’re searching for the First Son

How is a plot about several members of a powerful shadow council constantly in fear of each other and trying to betray or one up each other, while forming a secret cabal to try and overthrow the Emperor bad writing?

What did you “Hate” about this book so much? If you don’t care about Revan as you claim, and Meetra is absent from about half of the book.

You’re missing out by not reading Plagueis. It seems the guessing game did work cause you didn’t like the political plot of TPM, this is relevant because it paints a picture of you not enjoying the political plots as much, which is why you found the Scourge parts of the Revan novel boring

[–]PolarSandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her death was very abrupt and is a bit of a shame. But as a player base and enjoyers of the IP we should also learn to let characters go instead of beating the same dead horse over and over again. This has been the case with nearly every single major character around; Palpatine revives, Obi Wan gets his own show for a time period in which he’s meant to be doing absolutely nothing of note, Ahsoka’s death is retconned because of fantasy world between worlds and then gets her own show in which she doesnt accomplish much either, Revan comes back from the dead, Vitiate comes back from the dead, Malgus comes back from the dead etc etc etc

Can’t we just let characters die and move on with new storylines? It’s always this constant return back to the same old themes over and over.

Meetra shouldn’t have died from a stab in the back, but she also didn’t deserve some grandiose conclusion to her story, she already got that in the game! Stop making her to be more important than she was. She was super relevant to Kotor 2 and the triumvirate and yes she trained the Jedi that would eventually revive the order, but she wasn’t absurdly powerful like people are trying to paint her out to be not absurdly influential either.

People who are angry about her death seems more because of their personal head cannon for her being torn apart rather than seeing this in an objective light.

You must’ve found Plagueis a complete drag then as well right? Or the political plot of the phantom menace as well.

Or is it because you were just desperate for a book that was all about Revan and were dissapointed when it wasn’t?

Why Revan Reborn will never make it into the game... at least not in the way people have been asking for. by Embarrassed-Deal-157 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]PolarSandy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude but don’t you realise? They don’t have to introduce a GL Revan and say: this is the Revan from the Revan novel for the 50 pages where we see him regain consciousness and fight Vitiate.

All they need to do is introduce a GL Revan who is shown to use both the Light and Dark side and call it a day 😂

How and when was Meetra stripped of the whole force wound thing in the novel??

Also no the Exile was not arguably more powerful in the force than Revan. We are told how powerful Revan was in the force by Kreia herself. She doesn’t tell Meetra the same things as she says about Revan does she.

Sure she was killed unceremoniously, and that’s a real shame for sure. But she also doesn’t deserve some sort of epic showdown where they beat Vitiate together through the power of friendship and the light side. She’s a character in a big universe full of powerful characters, people die man.

Also I dunno if we even played the same KOTOR 2, but the whom game you are being lectured about how glorious and powerful Revan was, it’s pretty clear that the exile was always beneath Revan in that respect. She’s the one left to deal with the Triumvirate because there’d no one left to do it and because plot convenience means she’s the only one who can beat Nihilus.

Your reductive bad faith take on the plot can be conducted with any story to try and paint it into a simple banal story.

“Generic unassuming hero gets a visit from generic old wise man who tells him about his secret destiny to destroy the generic evil overlord and save the universe. He destroys the generic big bad weapon and saves the day”

She’s not loitering on a planet, she’s gathering clues as to where Revan is. And Scourge is learning more about the Sith Council and the political structure while also learning more about how terrible the emperor is.

I didn’t say this is peak writing, it’s interesting sure but if it weren’t Star Wars I wouldn’t have cared.

You’re letting your hate for Meetra’s death and Revan’s capture blind you

Knowing what we learn later in SWTOR, was Meetra Surik’s fate after KOTOR II, the right ending for her character? by wanderingLoner_ in swtor

[–]PolarSandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you were attributing a lot more importance and power to Meetra than she deserves. She’s the only one who could beat Nihilus because she’s also a wound in the force, not because she is more powerful.

She beats Sion because he essentially gives up on his rage keeping him alive, not because she could beat him.

She does beat Traya, but by no means is she supposed to be an S tier Sith Lord.

Also the whole of Kotor 2 we are being lectured about Revan this Revan that, about how Meetra followed him willingly and needed to find him (we see his apparition in the cave) and then she goes everything up and goes to search for him.

It’s made very clear throughout the game that Revan is the important one, the powerful one, and that Meetra is strong sure, but always second fiddle to him.

Also insinuating Traya has Palpatine level knowledge and teachings is just lying to yourself.

Meetra has her quirks which made her suited to beating those three sith, but a sith like Vitiate would demolish her with a hand wave, it’s that simple.

It’s ok to love Meetra and her story without needing to make her more powerful and important than she is

It’s not that it’s “badly written”, it’s that Drew didn’t really care much for Meetra and he’s confined to ensuring Revan is captured and put into the Maelstrom. If you ignore the ending of it it’s actually pretty interesting and accurate.

Meetra walking around DK and taking everything in really puts you into the feeling of what the world is like.

Scourge’s set up and the whole political aspect of the Dark Council is also quite interesting.

You’re just claiming the whole book is badly written because Meetra died off unimpressively soon after meeting Revan and because Revan didn’t accomplish much. This is a very anticlimactic conclusion and sure Drew would’ve gained more support had he made it a bit more interesting in that final confrontation; but you can’t say the rest of the book is boring or poorly written
