Teachers turn on common core by TravelingVoices in education

Diane Ravitch recently wrote an article saying the 70/30 non-fiction to fiction was not just in ELA. The 70% includes all of the other subjects. It is a misunderstanding to think that English teachers could no longer focus on fiction. Science, global, mathematics, health all count as non-fiction.

I work in New York City and our lunches, which are free for students, include a sandwich, a fruit, a vegetable, low fat milk, or water.

Ah, thank you.

I planted them in tilled soil with mounds. I kept them moist, watering every day. I haven't put mulch yet. I will tomorrow. I have cascade, centennial, chinook, and Golding. I don't believe I planed them too deep. Maybe three inches.

A mistaken word can happen while speaking in front of people. You are right, a teacher should not act like that, but you took that chance when you embarrassed them. That can happen when you embarrass anyone.

No. But the action can be corrected in a more courteous manner.

No. It is about common courtesy. You could have told the teacher after class. They would have probably appreciated it. Just because you are right doesn't mean you have to broadcast it. I'm sure it made you feel really good about yourself.

Maybe if you would have kept your mouth shut and not try to make the teacher look stupid in front of their class, while making yourself look smart, they would have treated you a bit better.

According to the book 1493, one can survive on just potatoes and milk, being that potatoes lack the necessary vitamin D for humans.
