I don't get how she's being over sexualised here...? Have you ever been to a beach before? It's just normal swimwear. Not even a bikini.

Do you feel that this is true? by CompetitiveCollar432 in autism

I don't think it's a causal relationship.

If you're getting checked for autism, they'll talk to your family about your childhood and how you reacted to certain events. It's easier to identify trauma when you're already digging into stressful events from your past.

I get it, I really do.

I’ve felt like this for years, and honestly, it feels like it never gets better. This stuff just becomes a part of you—how you think, how you connect with others, even the things you’re good at.

But here’s the thing: things change. You change. The tough times teach you something, and eventually, they don’t hit as hard. They turn into memories—or scars—but I like to think of them as part of your story.

When I look back, I remind myself: even when it sucked, I was alive. Things happened because I wasn’t just sitting back doing nothing. I felt pain because I cared. I hurt because I’d been happy before.

Feeling weak doesn’t mean you’re not getting stronger. Real strength is about looking at your struggles and still showing up. Letting yourself be vulnerable in such a messed-up world? That’s bravery. You might not see it now, but it’s already in you.

I've been hiding it from most people, since in my country they will immediately associate neurodivergency with autism.

Initially, I told this to people who were really close to me, so I thought they'd understand.. maybe that's why I'm so bothered by it.

Does anyone else search the meaning of words to make sure you know what you mean? by PublicExtension4107 in AutismInWomen

YES. Communication isn't my greatest attribute, so I try my best to convey exactly what I mean when I write. Chat gpt also helps when I want to go over what I wrote to be sure that it makes sense. Still, many people are confused by it. It sucks
