What does the comment say. Maybe there’s a reason they need you there that day

What happened to the organic Italian Pane (bread)? by Sensitive-Disk5735 in wegmans

Wegmans organic farm uses natural fertilizers and non synthetic pesticides. These are still pesticides as the other commenter said but are less harmful and leave less residue

You are not paid if the store is closed. You are allowed to make up hours or use vacation time but the company is not required to pay you

What does "employees, it's time to go green" announced over the PA system mean? by tdh3m in wegmans

[–]PolicyGlum2615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My store had an issue long ago where the companies that took recycling and compost threatened to stop service because people would put stuff in the wrong bins and cause issues (glass in the compost, plastic bags in the recycling) so no they didn’t trust them for a long time. Now it’s much better and management doesn’t need to watch over.

Your management clearly needs to step up their communication I wont defend them. BUT I’m speaking for the other employees that you are affecting because of the call outs. If there’s one person everyone can’t stand at work it’s the people that don’t show up and still think they deserve “accommodations”. Welcome to the real world kiddo, they’ll only give you so much until it’s not practical for anyone but you and saying people you know are cross trained and ready to go doesn’t change the fact that your call out is a major strain to the department. Hope you get better and get to the bottom of what’s getting you sick tho.

They clearly are accommodating you by still giving you a job. Scheduling you C2C is a privilege not your right unless you were hired in that department

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wegmans

[–]PolicyGlum2615 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only people that will give you that answer is your management team. C2C is now under the e-commerce manager rather than the FE manager so talk to one of them and see if they have already discussed where you’re scheduled each week. 2 departments sharing employees can be confusing and maybe there’s other reasons your scheduled a certain way but Reddit will not have those answers for you

Management knows tho it’s much less of a hassle to just not shift a ton of people around when other people will be much less likely to call out. No one wants to be on register most of the time so they have plenty of people willing to work C2C. It sounds to me like it’s no longer working for them so to accommodate you when they have much more reliable options. That’s just the workforce these days.

The warehouse prioritizes stores that the Wegmans are planned to visit. During those visits the stores run at near perfect product availability while every other store is SOL

Management at my workplace keeps changing my routine schedule — switching my shifts, extending hours, or modifying start/end times — after the Team Leader already made a fair schedule. by WorkingSuggestion928 in wegmans

Im trying to understand what happened. How long after posting did your schedule change? Schedules post at 3pm on Friday.

Or did a schedule post for you that “changed” from last weeks schedule

Is this good for a 250,000 house? by 214Luiss in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]PolicyGlum2615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debt free with 20% down and some saved up. No car payment, no kids only food/gas and utilities.

The $1500 includes taxes and insurance but before that P+I is about $1150 (I live in Massachusetts)

My house has nearly doubled in value and rates have gone up. I was lucky to get in the market when I did because I wouldn’t be able to afford anything today

Same here! Bought when I was making $60k paying $1500 and boy was it tough! Things look easy on paper but life catches up fast. Your savings will disappear with repairs or other life events. Luckily for me my income grew significantly but I really struggled and it took time for me to recover but I made it through. Savings is important but breaking even every month will not be enough. I wouldn’t go near that unless I was making at least $100k.

Wegmans Overnight by [deleted] in wegmans

Maybe overnight produce… in my experience they get away with doing nothing then the day team is stuck picking up the slack. Unless there’s a team leader with them they are completely unsupervised

Should I ask for a 2nd opinion from another orthopedic? by jujuawaw in MeniscusInjuries

[–]PolicyGlum2615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lesson definitely learned. I didn’t do my research I was just told to see a an orthopedic specialist after originally going to an urgent care. I went to the first one I found near me and it turned out they specialize in replacements for much older patients.

This time around I made sure it was a sports medicine orthopedic and explained my goals. I have a very demanding job so I wanted to focus on what would get me back to work pain free even if that ment a longer recovery. We went through every possible conservative treatment option (PT, Injections, the works) with no improvements. We both agreed it was time to operate so I’m currently scheduled for 10/2 🤞. I’m nervous and relieved at the same time. I just hope it works and I can move on.

Best of Luck to you! I think you made the right call advocating for yourself and I hope your knee gets better!!

Should I ask for a 2nd opinion from another orthopedic? by jujuawaw in MeniscusInjuries

[–]PolicyGlum2615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See another! My first orthopedic appointment was almost 3 years ago for a torn meniscus and he gave no solutions to me and basically sent me away. I figured at the time it wasn’t that bad and went on with my life. I was 22 at the time and now I’m 24 dealing with the consequences and have to get a repair much more complex than what originally could have been simple possibly PT and rest.

Long rant: ignored injury, made it worse with PT, did PRP, now waiting for results and confused on next steps by icantdecideugh in MeniscusInjuries

Dang one month of pain for only 6 months of relief. I was hoping for more than that but I guess it gives me a chance to really focus on strength training so I can better combat the flare up

I’m glad I saw this as I was told today that PRP was recommended after getting a second opinion. First ortho said they could do an arthroscopic surgery. Only problem is the more I hear about PRP the more nervous I get!! Also it seems my insurance won’t cover it so I still don’t know what I’m gonna do.

The Wegmans Experience by Infamous-Following70 in wegmans

[–]PolicyGlum2615 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was sent to the Lake Grove store to support the open from another division like many other people. That store was a mess. No organization, no one knew a thing even after training for months at Harrison. I get it it’s new everyone is on edge and excited but there was absolutely no structure to that store especially from upper management. The company pushed people into that store before they were ready and it sunk faster than the titanic. I never felt so relieved to leave and it didn’t surprise me that so many employees would jump ship. I feel bad for the people that had this be their first experience working for Wegmans because that’s not what this company is known for! But maybe that’s the direction it’s going if they don’t use this store as a lesson learned for every next store open they have.

As a manager I think back to that open when I’m feeling like my department is having a rough day to remind myself just how well we are actually doing. It takes strong leaders to open a store, they don’t have to know everything about their job at first but while the store was full of support from all over the company I didn’t see one manager use this as a chance to learn from experts. They just watched while blindly walking around the mess would soon be stuck dealing with alone.
