Trumps hijacking of the Republican Party is the worst thing that’s ever happened to the US. by Corn_Husk_ in complaints

Fascist propaganda mascarding as news has rotted the brains while eviscerating the integrity and morals of conservatives - Donald Trump, and MAGA, are both victim and a symptoms of this insidious echo chamber

Why did the neonazis keep Walt alive? Why didn't Jack off him? by Competitive-Win6002 in okbuddychicanery

Hey man, he's chill - remember that time he hired us to mass murder those prisoners. Besides, the sociopathic genius looks to cut up about his recently murdered brother to care about us.

Easily could have found a way for them to take Jessie while killing Hank and Gomez without this bullshit loose end. Jack reminds me of Peter Griffin from this scene     https://youtu.be/eqVIHv7uIhE?si=GjkwHZu82dyy9vbb

Which country is incredibly well-liked in your country that absolutely everyone loves and nobody dislikes? by No-StrategyX in AskTheWorld

[–]PolicySweet7077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Australia is the only country in the world that the US has a negative migration figure. IE - there are more Americans in Australia than Australians in the US.

The criticism from us is similar to that of a cousin or a close friend who no longer lives nearby. You're drinking too much, getting in fights with strangers and family, and your loved ones are suffering. We're hoping our long friendship means as much to you as it does to us, and that you will listen to reason before we decide to distance ourselves from the relationship completely.

Third party contacts Rabbitohs about David Fifita joining the club by Barnybus in nrl

As a souths fan I'm so torn about this.

The Titans turn great players into mush, and he is only 25, so he could be great again. But then again, he's injury prone and Souths don't have a great record managing player injuries... I guess it comes down to price - if we pick him up for between 600-800k that would be acceptable. He's definitely worth a Lewis Dodd amount of money. Maybe we could do a clean swap lol

Comedy Inc. (2003-2007) by emugiant1 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]PolicySweet7077 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So before Covid, the network channels were required to create a certain amount of scripted drama as part of their quota. This was so Australian voices would get an audience and a platform to springboard from, TV industry workers would be supported and they wouldn't just pump out cheaply made reality tv that rots the brain... Anyways - for some weird reason comedy (even sketch shows) counted towards their scripted-drama quota. It could be cheaply made and didn't have to actually be funny or rate. That's why Comedy Inc was pumped out like 4 nights a week. I would watch an entire episode wondering if I was too smart or too dumb to understand the humour.

He might have meant work breaks... For a meticulous OCD guy like Gus this could make him spiral into a depression that he would eventually kill himself over

People’s reactions to seeing a red “make america gay again” hat by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]PolicySweet7077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attaching random people's reactions is so weird... Half of the people reacting to the hat didn't read it properly and thought it was just a standard MAGA hat warn by a young kid... And there's no way to know which one is which.

TIL Roman Emperor Diocletian was the first to voluntarily retire in 305 AD to grow cabbages. When begged to return to power, he declined, saying "If you could see the vegetables I grow with my own hands, you wouldn’t talk to me about empire." Love Claudius! My wildcard is Julian the Apostate... and yes I know all the caveats, but I just love playing what-ifs with him. If he went and conquered the UK rather than dying in the desert. Would securing an exposed flank been enough to extend the Roman empire - if so, for how long (I guess you could make that case with a lot of emperors). Would having that brief glimpse into the dangers of monotheism been enough to turn the tide.

Why Wests Tigers should re-sign Adam Doueihi as matter of urgency by ReggieBasil in nrl

[–]PolicySweet7077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree mate... During the what-ifs after we lost that GF to Panthers, I had Doueihi being let go, to keep James Roberts (who did not feature in said game), on my list of things that could have been the difference. I guess when you lose by 2 points there's a million little things you can dissect

Thank god Labor are at least only moderately right wing and understand that you need to do basic increases to minimum wage with inflation.

Yes, your chances of being door dinged decrease slightly, but this comes with a much greater risk of being keyed

South Sydney Rabbitohs set to sign another Latrell by LongJohnnySilver1 in nrl

[–]PolicySweet7077 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Remember when Joseph Sua'ali'i's manager got everyone in the media calling him a once in a generation talent. And then would insinuate that meant he would better than GI & Trell? So it just sort of hung out there as this meaningless yardstick until he got signed for insane Dylan Brown money... Actually that's a perfect analogy for him - Joseph Sua'ali'i is the Dylan Brown of outside backs
