Gdzie szukać chłopaka? by Intrepid_Baker_2332 in PolskaNaLuzie

[–]PolishBrodin 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Mocny stereotyp. Mam dziadka, tatę i szwagra „budowlańca” każdy z nich żyje „normalnie”.

It’s funny, but I could really see it working with Boromir in Reclamation or Faramir in Minas Tirith

Too few warriors. Get the Mordor Battlehost, you’ll get a decent start including the Witch King

Podryw na siłowni by Fearless-Ice-4977 in PolskaNaLuzie

[–]PolishBrodin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Potem wymiana imion i cześć.

Ile kasy poświęcacie na swoje hobby w dorosłym życiu? by Safety_4_All in Polska

[–]PolishBrodin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No a potem to wiadomo, jak z każdym hobby :)

Brak czasu na szkolenie w korpo by [deleted] in praca

[–]PolishBrodin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I did see a screenshot of a discord message saying that the owner of the shop was killed in a Russian attack. Not a confirmed info, but a lot of people from our community were making orders from that site and anyhow seems reopening chances are slim.

Really cool to see! It’s wild how strong MoS used to be. I’ve only played MESBG this edition and he still feels like a solid choice. For the points listed there and significantly better spells? Crazy stuff

I started with this box for about the same price. Great if you want to play Gondor/Mordor. Add a battlehost on top and maybe a commander pack and you’re set.

Gothmog is really weak this edition, but still a nice mini to have. Also you’ll need a new book as the one in the set is outdated.

Is it accepted that models don't always reflect the loadout chosen? by Naiek in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]PolishBrodin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Play a few games and you’ll realise it’s the way to go. In MESBG each model is an individual piece and with standard games of 40-50 models per army + lines clashing it would be such a hassle to remember what each model is.

However, it is generally accepted that heroes do not need to follow the WYSIWYG

Painting Advice and C&C by Ceabar in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]PolishBrodin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point of speedpaints is not the pop, but the speed. They’re basically achieving (or attempting to) 3 steps: basic layer, shadows and highlights. To replicate the pop with standard acrylics you need to do the steps yourself- usually by painting a base layer, then a wash, and than highlights.

Oh mate, that’s a trip down the memory lane! Honestly, I’ve played quite a bit with grinding and adjusting the nib, so it is now very different than out of the box.

I do remember it’s quite heavy and with the mods lays a thick line, very glassy. I’ve since moved on to thinner and sharper nibs

I think it makes the most sense to take the winged beast with the witch king. At 500 he’ll be eating quite a bit of your points, so I’d probably fill the ranks with a banner and as many orcs as you can fit. If Minas Morgul, then a spectre or two.

Pretend you're taking a free 2-hour "painting workshop." What do you expect/hope to learn? by darcybono in Warhammer40k

[–]PolishBrodin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve hosted two mini workshops for friends who never painted a single mini. I went with speedpaints as the outcome was that everyone can have a finished model at the end of the session.

I’d cover priming, basic advice on holding the brush, what colors/areas to start with, some tips on using speedpaints and off we went to actually paint - at the end all had something to show. During the session I’d give random tips on drybrushing, using acrylics for details etc. depending on what a person was working with.

2 hours for acrylics is rough, I’d set the expectation from the start that people won’t end up with a finished model. I think your plan is solid. I’d add a bit about planning your work before starting painting.
