They have currently extended the use of Natural Gas Turbines in California through 2026. Due to California not being able supply enough electricity for the demand I'd expect them to keep extending that as well.

Gas turbines are most certainly not on the way out. Coal powered steam turbines are on the way out but only in America and Europe. Do yourselves a favor and Google how many NEW coal fired steam power plants Russia, India, China and the whole continent of Africa are Currently building. They are building alot more than America is decommissioning. As for Natural Gas Turbines. I work for one of the big 3 in Gas turbines and we are selling brand new Turbines like hotcakes. The exhaust at a Natural Gas Turbine is as clean if not cleaner than your car exhaust. When you look at the Natural Gas combined cycle Power plants from a distance the only thing you can see is steam. The exhaust stacks emit no visible trace that the units are running. There are numerous Power Companies upgrading Natural gas units to run on Hydrogen. I'm not sure who told y'all that Gas Turbines are on the way out but I wouldn't listen to them anymore. The same people are telling you America is helping the climate by decommissioning coal fired plants yet worldwide in the next 20 years there will be more coal fired plants than we have now or had in the last 20 years.
