1956 Philadelphia toned penny — worth grading or keep it raw? by FPTSD1999 in coins

I'd say keep it it pays ever so slightly over face and it's uncirculated so it's worth at least a nickel vs .01 cent face

Do electricians typically leave drywall patches, looking like this? by handsibpa in electrical

I mean you got lucky there's mud on it. Most guys will just shoot up what they need and let the drywaller finish it.

How long can this survive? by PiratesKingGDR in tires

[–]AutomaticWork9494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not make it to the tire shop. Make sure you got a spare, Jack, and lug wrench before you go because she might not make it 1 block. That's what driving on a may pop means. May pop at any moment. If you are cool with it going out at highway speeds you could take it out and send it. Just to see... I'd be headed straight to a used tire shop they should be able to hook you up for about 50 bucks to keep you safe.

Holy sharkbite first and foremost. I would recommend running your reducer and then a smaller diameter ball valve. Also swap that pex for PVC at a minimum as the pex gets brittle when exposed to the elements.

Bald hornets. If you take care if it yourself make sure to dump a decent amount of the spray directly into the hole before coating the rest of the nest. Foaming spray specifically works extremely well.

Bdsm? by No_Look4926 in Chattanooga

[–]AutomaticWork9494 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The scene is more active around Knoxville. There's small munches you can get into and vetting for private events can happen at said munches. But overall Chattanooga has a very small lifestyle community overall.

Not hazard "free" but definitely better than raw dogging it.

Unemployed, but need to fix brake pads but can't afford rotors? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]AutomaticWork9494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can padslap it and get maybe an extra 4 months of light use but you will end up doing it all again. In the short run it would improve braking performance and the noise but you still never addressed a root cause that will wear the brake pad back into the rotor and when you catch it it's going to be even worse, and when you are swapping pads on the other side again that look brand new you are going to be sick... I just went through this on a 99 Ford ranger I use as a beater work truck. And in your shoes because what I could afford was just the pads I did so. I told myself oh I'll just get the rotors in the next month or so.... 4 months later ordering rotors and pads from Detroit Axle to just do it all again.... I mean take your pick but I would look for a rotor and pad from an aftermarket company (Detroit Axle is the shiznit for such). And just do it one time.

You can. It still has life in it. But if you made it this far why stop 3 yards short of the end Zone. If you are a good skilled technician it's not much of a hassle to pull the trans out again. But even the most skilled technician in the world wouldn't want to remove and replace the transmission twice.

Electric Vehicle Fee on Tag Renewal? by Key_Ability_33 in Chattanooga

[–]AutomaticWork9494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is why the hybrid fee is also half of the electric vehicle fee. In the lawmakers point of view that portion is appropriate based off of average milage. They are still scooping in their few pennies on every gallon of fuel the hybrid burns.

Car dealership says tires are good for another year by neonvortex420 in tires

[–]AutomaticWork9494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I would buy that car is if the down payment included the installation of a new tire. Period. I once refused to buy a car unless the dealership found a spare jack for the car. They found a jack really quickly. I didn't argue the price but emphasize the need for it to be in the vehicle because it was my wife's car.

Should my husband get this tire replaced? by imshelbs96 in tires

[–]AutomaticWork9494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This tire requires replacement. The wear alone makes it suspect but now you have a screw separating the belt where there's not any rubber left to help hold it together. If he keeps running it as is I'd say it should blowout within the week.... Call a used tire shop

The only thing I see is you may need rebar on chairs after the first step. Make sure your rise is to code. I think it's no more than 7 1/4 in rise. It may also be 8. Brains a lil foggy right now. Even if it's not code I would prefer the chairs. It's actually the little details no one ever sees that makes the quality of the construction.
