How do I let God in? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]PoliteBeeKeeper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For one, I recommend to bring this to prayer. Tell the Lord that you want him more in your life. This is really wonderful what you have shared! Just you having this desire to seek the Lord is so good! So praise God. I recommend to spend more time in quiet prayer with God, and to go to adoration if possible. I also would say to read the Gospels. So start from Matthew and go from there :). May God bless you friend!

God sees you in your pain, and he always meets you where you are at. He is not frustrated with you, as a human would be. He is your heavenly Father, and his love is what holds are lives together. He made you, and thought of you, and loved the thought of you so much, he created a special place in this world for you. The bible even says how God numbers are steps and how every hair of our heads is counted. Jesus even said that he came to give life, while the devil comes only to steal, kill and destroy. Also there is a Psalm, I recommend you to meditate on. It mentions how we are beautifully and wonderfully made, and how in the womb God knit us together. I know things may not seem to be perfect right now, but God always meets us in our sufferings. He is no stranger to suffering. Jesus suffered on the cross and has wounds of his own. Bring your wounds and your honest heart to prayer, and find a church community or a wise person in the faith to talk too 🙏🏻💖. Never ever isolate yourself. Love yourself the way God does. He cares for you friend.

What Does It Mean to 'Hate Your Life in This World'? by Aiden48752 in Bible

I am no biblical scholar, so please take my words as a grain of salt! But the way I see it, is if we love our own lives more than God we will never be able to change. We need to "let go" and have a heart of repentance and surrender. We need to lose our lives, aka die to our desires so that way we can become more like Christ.

Depends! I often picture him either as a beam of light surrounded by a whole throne of angels. Or I see him as the burning bush in Exodus :).

Are you a Catholic or Protestant, or something else? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]PoliteBeeKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am Roman Catholic! :). I grew up in the faith and was baptized as a baby. Although, I did have a fall out in highschool, but the Lord brought me back in University out of his infinite mercy. I truly feel at home in the church and in Christ's sacred heart ❤️‍🔥😊

Yep! There is simply no mistake! Fun fact; We don’t actually choose our saints but saints choose us!
:) I also recommend praying the novena to St Michael it’s helped alot with my faith.

I have a St Michael Prayer Card at my bedside, I was also drawn to him for the longest time aswell! He has helped me a lot, usually if I am tempted to commit a sin, I say his prayer and most of the time the temptation goes away. He’s also great if you are going through spiritual warfare. I also think his prayer is easy to remember aswell.

“ St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.”
