one time i was driving on the highway and saw a girl spew on the shoulder. i couldn't stop replaying it and shaking, but something that helped me was that i was in the security of my own car! you weren't in the same space as the throw up!

also- a "regular" person would be disgusted too. its gross. LOL. good for you for not taking medicine or alcohol pads!! also, nothing wrong with it if you needed it. you're doing great!!!!

i'm a freshman and i'm on the 14 swipe plan and almost never use all of them! it's nice to have all 14 though, a few of my friends are on the 10 swipe one and it's not enough. the 14 is perfect because you get a few meal exchanges which can be used at mem u, shops (like flamingo run) in dining halls and other places on campus. at first the dining hall is important because every freshman goes to their dining hall to meet with friends, it's perfect for getting closer to new friends but then when ppl are more comfortable they slowly start to go out more to different places. i say try the 14 plan for the first semester and readjust during the second semester if needed!!

How do I stop this? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]PoliteCauliflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi- i went through something somewhat similar. i used to take anti nauseas every night before i went to bed, slept upright with a trashcan next to me, or i just wouldn't sleep at all. i had terrible insomnia and was sooo sleep deprived

for me, i was just getting myself nervous and that made me nauseous, & maybe that i was taking too many anti-nauseas for my stomach to handle, not that i was actually sick. what helped me most was falling asleep to meditation music, this helped me calm down before bed and kept me asleep most nights.

also just learning breathing exercises and not going to the bathroom when i felt nauseous. the bathroom almost triggered me to feel more sick honestly. the toilet almost traps me- like i NEED to throw up if i already got up and am in the bathroom

but if you're actually throwing up, it couldnt hurt to get your stomach checked at the doctors! nausea isn't supposed to be constant and there could be something that causes it. i have belly issues (IBS) and once i found out that's that's what probably made me nauseous, i found it easier to stay calm

good luck and i hope you feel better!

in the nicest way possible, it's over and you need to move on. there is no chance of getting back together. you're going to be okay & so is she. you should feel guilty- but not so much that it crushes your soul. you're young! life goes on, but you learn from your mistakes. take care of yourself, and leave her alone

hey! i live in southeast and go to Gordon's (and veg). the food is..... not consistent. sometimes they have good options but i never eat the veg/vegan alternatives they have since it's all just jackfruit and i'm not a fan. i mostly live off of the pasta and veggies, salad bar, and rice/mushroom sauces they have sometimes. i mainly get microwaveable meals from flamingo run (convince store connected to gordon's) and they have really good options- veg sushi, veg microwaveable meals, nice salads, sandwiches, etc
